Trainz Texture Glitch

If you want that kind of precision, I recommend using a spline. There are plenty of ballast splines that you put down like a road. I even made my own by using the YARN roads. I disabled traffic and put my own textures on them. They are great for thick surfaces such as cobbled roads, dirt or other textures on them. Being thick, the track can be buried in them without the rails sticking up above the surface. You can do this with thin roads too or download one of the many ballast splines from the DLS.

In other words, there are more than one way to beat a dead horse and this is an easy one.

One other thought...

The grid is there for a reference for placing fixed objects and I doubt it was ever meant as something to be used for painting between lines. The grid texture we have today is far different than the one found in UTC through TS12 and T:ANE. The grid is a texture and PBR one at that.
I shouldn't have to do all of that. That's just a glitch which needs to be fixed. I've reported it to N3V Games and am waiting for a response.

This is what I received:

Good Afternoon AdvancedApproach
As no further updates have been released, the current version of Trainz will not show any changes, however this should be fixed in a coming update for Trainz.

Because I'm showing them how the select and fill function was working perfectly fine in TANE but has since been broken in TRS22 you idiot. Nice try blocking me and still commenting on my threads. You just love stirring the pot I see. You banned me from your YouTube and Discord channel because I didn't catch on to your instructions right away then have the nerve to call me a dick. I'm shocked you have been permanently been banned yet. Don't worry, I've got a perfect solution for that.
That's similar to his actions in PM's to me earlier in the year. I usually just ignore his posts, or report them.
In this case, he's so obviously clueless, I had to say something.
