Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 Platinum Edition Announced

I have found this to be true as well. I used to run these versions, and even TRS22 and Plus, on my old Alienware R15 from 2016. The issue I have is disk space on that laptop, always did in fact, and end up using an external drive instead.

When using a portable computer, we have to compromise even if it's supposed to be a desktop replacement. By compromising, I mean lowering the graphics a bit so that the hardware doesn't cook. There are going to be exceptions on both ends of the scale with no matter how much we try, it isn't going to work due to poor machine design or because we're trying to do more than the hardware is capable of in the first place. Then there's the other end of the spectrum for those that can afford a nearly $5K laptop. Those machines have airflow meant for heavy duty use and they can run most programs including Trainz at full bore, but then again who has that for spending money?

Newbie here

I purchased TRS19 Platinum for my child.

Does it come with "Trainz Route: Settle and Carlisle" or I need to buy it for 24.99 Thanks in advance

N3V/Trainz changes quickly and the fact that a "latest" Platinum beta is available but not the same beta for "Plus" makes me hesitate. But, my understanding is that pware is correct. Plus is a subscription program and not a "version" of the software. Plus subscribers get more releases (updates) of of the "Platinum" software. So, Plus and Platinum, I believe, are the same core. Plus subscribers may also have features in that core that Platinum does not (betas). And Gold is Platinum/Plus, and, add to that, "availability of all Payware content." Likewise, the "regionals" are the same software. They simply include the appropriate "regional" routes.

Every Trainz user and prospective customer should know and understand this page and the chart at the bottom: http://www.trainzportal.com/pages/trs19-faqs

I suspect most people don't make it down to the bottom of that charge but it is an important item: "Regular New Game Feature Updates" (Plus and Gold subscriptions)
Than you sir for imparting your knowledge on this, I am going to keep your Shortcut link to that FAQ.

Excellent resource for New Members, and lets face it, there is much to learn in all these different versions. 🧐

I started in Trainz 2 Player with my undersized IPAD back in 2014, now I am in TRS22 Platinum, and have so much to still learn. I have a high respect for PWare and other very knowledgeable members here. ;)
