Just keep in thought that the oringal post from me was just an opinion. You do not have to write negative comments about my opinion. So what I think Trainz can be pricey. Can't people get along with each other. I understand that suggesting the idea of downloading the game was not a good idea, but I am an honest person and I would never break the law. I hope you all can end up understanding that this is a Trainz forum. Not an argument forum.
So you think TS12 is pricey? N3V are an Australian games developer, hence their games are based on Australian prices. Not so long ago, our Australian dollar was WAY below your US dollar in exchange rates comparison. Is it N3V's fault that your government stuffed up your (the US) economy (Bush by warfare with no regards to spending big) and our AU economy remained strong, hence now our AU dollar is higher standing than yours, hence you pay about a quarter more now than you would have, say, a couple of years ago.
Normal price here in AU for TS12 is AU$ 59.95 but for quite some time now it could be bought for AU$ 49.95, lately with discounts now even cheaper. Compare this with the price one has to pay here in AU for Skyrim (AU$59.95) most other new games (Battlefield, Tour of Duty, Dragon Age I + II, Kingdom of Amalur, Diablo III when released, Dust etc.) for between AU$ 80.00 and AU$ 99.00.
Where is TS12's price now in relation to other games for all the enjoyment one will get out of creating, constructing, running etc. any sort of layout/route that is available for d/load or has been created by oneself? How many years in the future will many still be playing Trainz, when all the above (Battlefield, Tour of Duty, Dragon Age I + II, Kingdom of Amalur, Diablo III, Dust etc.) have been long forgotten and gather dust laying in a corner or in a cupboard somewhere? If one does not like aspects of one's route, hey presto, this can get deleted, added on or redone some other way etc. Try this with your fixed route in your basement or wherever, which might have taken you years to construct, then add even more many dollars you spend buying rolling stock and scenery items for it.
I know where I am better off by buying Trainz where I can let my creative juices flow and alter, delete, manipulate or add on parts of it whenever or wherever I am (if using a laptop for Trainz).
My 2 cents (your US 2.2 cents) worth
