oooopppsss sorry i posted this in the wrong section, could a modder please move this to its rightful place

:hehe: its pretty standard practice though out the world for railfans to be called foamers, nothing is gonna change it, no use getting bent out of shape about it, you should wear the badge with pride. Actually I might get a tee shirt with it printed on:hehe:

My other suggestion is have a cup of concrete

Cheers

Did you notice that norfolksouthern37 did not use thinly disguised profanity in his post? Maybe you could follow his lead.

Cheers

If someone calls you by an intentionally derogatory term, does that cause you to question your passions? Does it cause you to doubt the legitimacy of your hobby? Does it shame you in some way? It shouldn't, the other person should be shamed, except that they're too self centered or too stupid to realize that fact. Ignorance is bliss.

Some people have no hobbies, nor interests at all. Some people go to work each day, and have no outside life beyond the work enviorment. Some people like to vacation, and RV around the country, ride ATV's, fish, hunt, and watch stupid sports games where 280 lb guys all tackle each other and jump on top of the pile squishing the other teams opponent on a leather ball.

You have to admit that watching a Nascar race, (where they make 500 constant left hand turns) has a bigger turnout of racefans ("Wheeeee, There he goes, he's gonna pass him, Wheeeeee" ! ), and that some guy standing by the railroad tracks filming trains that have already been filmed by someone else previously, is a rather strange hobby. (WooWoo !)

Anyone who doesn't admit that they themselves are kind of eccentric (out of round) "odd ball" railroad frequentologist, is deciving themselves, as it is a strange interest that we all share. And it is wierd to those who do not share the seemingly silly, strange, attraction to railroads.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones - mere words can never hurt me!" I suggest everyone just ignores the "foamer" term (or "spotter", "nerd", "anorak" or whatever else comes to these rather immature types tiny minds!

.........or to use the pseudo-Latin phrase first coined by General "Vinegar" Joe Stillwell - "Illegitimi non carborundum" ("Don't let the ******ds grind you down!") :D

Let's burn down the embassy!!!!!

Not really necessary, but maybe we could torch a roundhouse or two.:hehe:

I bear the epithet with pride. Here's a guy who makes no bones about it, the proprietor of "The Dome O'Foam." http://www.wx4.org/to/foam/a_rrcontents.html Even railroaders are tolerant of us if we don't get under foot or put lives or property in jeopardy. I, personally, even use the word to describe myself and don't take it as any sort of an insult.
