Trainz hangs with hourglass sometimes

What causes the hourglass with not responding? Sometimes Trainz 22 comes back, but sometimes it stays stuck and I have to kill it. It sometimes happens when I right click. Is that the cpu being overloaded or the memory? But my memory is only at 39% not 90%.

It may depend on when and where you are getting the hourglass, but sometimes Trainz does some background processes that may take it quite a while. I usually get a spinning circle

A spinning circle or hourglass means that the program and or the operating system are busy. If your hard disk is very fragment, spinning rust only, this can cause both to take longer to load data. A full disk will cause this as the OS and program are attempting in vain to find a place for temporary files.

If you are killing TRS22 then there's a 99.99% possibility you are corrupting your database which will lead to more problems and then more problems. Eventually, you'll have to run an EDR and create more problems for yourself.

Run a DBR and check for faulty assets and clean those up accordingly after you view errors and warnings.

Trainz acts a lot like Windows when you don't go close it out properly, and I've had it where Trainz becomes so spastic it won't even load the game properly. If you can close to where the session or route pages are you can just exit without issue, but if you exit from within your route/session that's where problems happen. Not a stable design in my book, but it is what it is.
