Trainz Forge: Routes, Reskins and Renders

If I get the big pieces roughed in it looks more complete than it actually is...

that doesn't in any way prove that i'm wrong; those GS2s are many years old at this point and it's entirely possible DT is simply redoing them from the ground up. you find me another locomotive with a 4-8-4 arrangement, boxpok wheels, and that exact trailing truck and i'll gladly shut up.
You must feel REALLY vindicated right now Chris. :ROFLMAO:

G'day All,

I have to say, the level of detail and finish on your models is absolutely stunning! This is true for all your models, I just happened to take the new CP special for a spin recently.

This isn't the cab view. It's just a look inside the external model. Amazing!

Thank you so much for these amazing assets. They really bring the game alive.

Cheers,
Piere.

Looking much more complete as we work our way back across the skyline and skirts with detailing. Still a bit left to do on the front to call it complete but jumping around helps keep me motivated.

Well, I'll tell you what, this shape is already looking a LOT more detailed than the current GS pack. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Been a while since I shared an update. The GS-4 is progressing nicely, I put it at a little over halfway complete. I have started the rough outline of the tender mesh as well, but it is not far enough to bother with pictures yet.

In the meantime, I whipped up a new tank car- Union Pacific class O-50-6, a 12,500 gallon single dome tank car built in 1937. Still needs new trucks, UV unwrapped and textured, but the mesh otherwise is complete. There will be quite a few road names applied to this tanker.

I've also been working with some other TF members to add a more "lived in" look to the tank car as well as future projects. This includes warping the handrails, running board droop, coupler droop, and few other things like bent grab irons and steps. You can see the effects of this in this view:

Beautiful work, love the old stuff. Nicely detailed too. ;)
