it's an SP GS-[x]. the trailing truck matches perfectly with the one found on the GSs, right down to the little raised part at the front.

Problem with that is he said, "The beginning of something new..." and there are already GS locomotives on the site

that doesn't in any way prove that i'm wrong; those GS2s are many years old at this point and it's entirely possible DT is simply redoing them from the ground up. you find me another locomotive with a 4-8-4 arrangement, boxpok wheels, and that exact trailing truck and i'll gladly shut up.

DT already redid the GS-6s a couple years ago. They remain unreleased because I figured he wanted to remake the other GS classes (barring the GS-1 and SSW L/L1s) and drop them all at once.
When I asked him a while ago if he intended to remodel the GS-2s and GS-4s, DT said he needed motivation to do the coaches as well. I can understand why, because it doesn't make much sense to have a streamlined locomotive without a consist to pull (matching or otherwise).

It could be Minnesota and Northern, M&N tends to have a harriman/overland flavour to it, and I don't think there's been a 4-8-4 for that road yet.

Not to be that guy buy from just the wheelbase alone... this could literally be any Baldwin 4-8-4, I know for a fact several of the Frisco 4500s had that exact configuration

If I get the big pieces roughed in it looks more complete than it actually is...

Also because I haven't shared these in awhile: PFE R-40-10 steel bodied reefers. These kind of ended up in limbo for a bit because I couldn't get the weathering to a satisfying level. They are looking much better now and have animated doors, roof hatches, couplers, air hoses as well as a skin changer that affects both the diffuse and parameter maps. And to top it off, a first for Trainz Forge: an animated Barber S1 truck with soft-body animated springs that bounce and flex as the car moves along.
