Trainz Collection - New Install

Hi All,

I got my copy of Traniz Collection this morning (UTC/2004/2006 etc.) and I'm looking forward to getting it installed tonight. I purcahsed TC1+2 from Steam on Saturday which lead me to this web site and I ordered the collection on Monday so I'm very happy (Apart from not purcahsing TC1+2 from here and saving a few pounds :hehe: )... I'm in the UK by the way.

Anyway... sorry.. I digress....

When I install tonight will it / can I install it so all the content is registered in the same place (I guess this is 2006) or will it all be seperated into UTC / 2004 / 2006. If it's seperated can I import it all into 2006 or do I have to keep the disk based content in the seperate apps?

Also, Is it worth me installing all the apps or should I just install 2006 and the routes packs, and if I do am I missing much in TUC and 2004?

Sorry for the probably dumb questions but a search didn't help with the answer and want to get my install "Right First Time!"..

Thanks,

John

Essentially all the "stuff" that comes with UTC and TRS2004 is part of TRS2006 including layouts so all you need do is install TRS2006 and then the route packs. As I recall all of the updates are part of that version of TRS2006. Some will claim TRS2004 is the best verion but not I.
Most of the stuff in TRS2006 is not in TC1&2 and visa versa.
Perhaps I am wrong but it would be the first time. ;)

Thanks for the feedback...

I read a lot on the stability of 2006 on the forums but I managed the whole night last night without a crash so pretty happy :)...

I took the plunge and did as you said and installed 2006 and the 4 route packs... so from what your saying all the routes and assets from UTC and 2004 are built in to 2006 so installing them will not get me any more data in CMP? If so then I think I'm done!

Quick follow on question.... I notice that 2006 comes with a demo of Modula City, which I have the full vertion of in TC1+2. Can I export the TC1+2 Modula City into 2006 or will I have problems because 2006 is older or because it's disk based content?

Thanks in advance,

John
