Also, watching your update video on Frisco 1522, just use the QR PB15 engine sound. It sounds just right for the 4-6-0. Or,just use the Steam Engine Sound 2 cylinder enginesound.
 
I know this might sound a bit random. When I get GMax, do I have to create the textures myself or can I use existing textures. Also, is it possible to transfer MSTS models like the CP heritage Pack into TRAINZ without configs? Or do I have to go through the process for all bogeys and textures to get them to work properly. Yes, this is very random.
 
Yes textures must be hand made, if they are not then you would be infringing on copyright from another user. MSTS trains cannot be imported into gmax. The config files write themselves as you build your creation in the content creator plus.
 
Thanks. Fiddled around with some DLS content for a special route. By the way, when I go to open CCP, it says "CCP.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." Honestly, is there a way to get CCP working? Also, what can you do with CCP? It seems tempting.
 
I wouldn't bother with CCP, especially if you are repairing old content.

CCP can write a very basic config file for you, with the basic details such as author, website, mesh-table, basic smoke containers and the like.

It's better to write a config yourself using Edit in Explorer and Notepad, especially if you do complicated stuff like Extensions in the mesh-table and advanced settings in smoke containers, as well as the kuid-table.

So, basically I have to create my own CP Selkirks Hudson's, and coaches from hand? Man!, this will take a while. I should be fine creating them and should be fine on help. Thanks for letting me know not to use CCP. By the way, if you look on Train Sim.com and search "CPHS1.zip" you will find what I am taking about.

Im still working on the models. But im also working on other models and multiple route projects. Barely any free time lol. Tender sjould be done by Nov 5.

Something I thought I finally post to get everyones hopes back up about tbis project.
 
Not just yet. I am having alot of issues with the model. for 1. its over 170K polygons since its a sketchup model. It shows no errors but about 25 textures are missing.

Having major issues with it. In order for me to make it work properly I need to export it from sketchup to gmax using the Sketchup pro which costs 500 bucks.
 
No need. Go on sketchucation and download their OBJExporter. Import it via Blender and export it as a .3ds! Just make sure the white faces are facing forward, or you're in for a ride to fix them.

I see. I orignally had blender but it stopped working on me so I got rid of it. Also at the moment only 2 textures properly show when exported. Will have to find a way to that.
 
Keep in mind if the Delorean body textures are the built-in textures from sketchup, they won't export. They apply themselves as a separate diffuse with the diffuse color being whatever color it was to begin with.
