Trainz Auto launch mode

Background:
Years ago circa 2004 Auran helped us use trainz for a simple cab driving exhibit in a museum. Over the years the exhibit has been moved, taken apart, stored, repurposed, and installed multiple times. Then the computer died.

Today:
So I have gotten them a new computer, the most up to date Trainz, Rebuilt the route and have everything ready to go. Except it's been years since I originally set it up, and many versions of the software. I can not figure out how to just make the thing start and go directly in to driving the train. Are there any references to command lines or running saved sessions automatically.

Thanks

Kevin

The Franklin Institute Museum in Phila once had a huge HO train platform, and a train simulator in a darkened booth (that rarely worked as kids were abusing the controls, by mashing the keypad with their fist, and destroying the mouse with their sticky little fingers).

Any Ideas on how to auto launch a session? A guy at Auran did it for us last and sent us a file, and now we can't get a response.

You would most probably have to have a Trainzed museum attendant supervising visitors with the use of the simulator, and fix crash's, and reload sessions.

I'm sure almost anything is possible though

Hi Kevin,

I'm wondering if this couldn't be done using a keyboard and mouse emulating script. Here's one I found on a quick Bing search: http://www.autohotkey.com/

Starting Trainz at machine startup, by putting the launcher short-cut in the start up folder, would start the program automatically. TS12 can be setup using the favorites to only display specific routes. Once that's all setup, perhaps the scripting program could take over mouse-clicks and everything else to get the simulator running.

You might want to discuss this further with N3V via the helpdesk.
