Trainz GPU performance AMD vs NVIDIA

So I'm drawing up plans for a brand new gaming pc build and I'm trying to decide on whether or not to go with AMD or NVIDIA for a new GPU.

For reference, my current rig is running an RTX3060TI paired with an Intel Core I9-10850K CPU and 3600MHZ of DDR4 RAM.

So I'm wondering, does Trainz have a reputation for being more favorable to one manufacturer compared to the other? I've always heard that Trainz prefers NVIDIA hardware compared to AMD but I've never seen any solid evidence of this claim. These past few years I've been more of an NVIDIA guy when it comes to GPUs but after the recent launch of the 50 series cards and hearing some not so good things in terms of raw performance compared to the last gen 40 series cards, I've been looking at AMD GPUs more often as of late.

Start here:

You're interested in the 3D benchmark score.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html is interesting it suggests now is not the prefect time to buy.

Your current card at 20,000 3d score is quite respectable and better then most are using. 10,000 is considered the base line.

With PBR textures arriving 16 gigs of memory on the video card would be nice. Many GPUs have gigs of memory.

Traditionally nVidia draws less power than AMD. If your system overheats you'll see throttling which isn't good. Also some power connectors have been known to burn out.

nVidia has or had a program to help Game developers optimise their code for their GPUs and from memory N3V use nVidia cards in the office apart from a couple of test machines.

I suspect my choice would be an RTX 5070. Dell Alienware are worth looking at if only for the configurations.

Alright, if it helps I'm thinking of an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D for my new processor along with hopefully 7200mhz DDR5 Ram sticks.
