Trainz A New Era on SSD

Hi guys,

I've got 2 x 250Gb SSD's in my computer - I installed TANE on the first SSD (Drive C) - I also have TS12 installed on that drive.
My question is - can I transfer all my Trainz related stuff to my second SSD (Drive D) and run both TANE and TS12 from that drive.
Presume I will have to do an uninstall and reinstall of both products and then run the updates etc. etc - Lots of stuff to download again....
is there perhaps an easier way short of buying a larger SSD for drive C: ?? I currently only have about 50Gb free on C: which doesn't give me much headroom when trying to convert some of my routes from TS12 to TANE.
Thanks for any help.

For T:ANE there is some information here:
http://faq.trainzportal.com/knowledge-base/moving-your-local-data-folder/

That must be done correctly or you will never find your content again.

There may not be much point in moving the actual installation folder, but AFAIK there is no problem in just moving it to another location.

For TS12, just move the whole folder and update any shortcuts, menus etc to point to the new location, or create new ones.

I would be interested in hearing how this turns out for you. I have TANE on my SSD D: drive, and I can't install 3rd party content and keep the game working (if local data folder is on C: drive, I can install and game will work, but when on D: drive, it's a no-go...and not enough room on my C: drive for all the great content out there to be installed). Please share your results!

Thanks for that Dan,
Both solutions worked like a charm. Now I can grow with TANE as I transfer my route from TS12 and do some more work on it.
Cheers mate.

I followed the post given by SailorDan and so far the transfer went great. I don't have any 3rd party problems as far a I can tell at the moment. Will keep you posted.

Have a looky here.
The idea is TANE (or TS12 or any program, really), can be on the C:\ drive, and the UserData folder is on the SSD.

Thanks for your input Nicky - just seemed a bit daunting for me to play around with Mounted Drives, have enough problems with drives as they are - LOL
Appreciated your input though, you never know later this may be an other option.
