Trainz 2019 from Steam freezing

Hi to all. This is my first visit. I recently installed Trainz Simulator 2019 from Steam. It worked OK for a little while, now, when trying to run a session (Highland Limited) or (Down Saturday Passenger Service) which used to run OK, I get the splash screen with 4 little squares going in circles endlessly. Never does the simulation start.
Can anyone help please?

have you changed a setting - can cause it to cache longer than normal but it shouldnt do it for ever.. Last resort try a steam repair

How much disk space do you have left?

When was the last time you defragmented the hard drive if it's a regular disk?
