trainz 2012

am thinking about buying trainz2012 is it compatable with 2009 content.
The reason i ask is i bought 2010 and its an absolute load of rubbish, it took 5 attemps to install it and after several crashes on install i finally managed to get it all working or so i thought i tried importing all my2009 content but to no avail half the routes were missing nearly all the locos and stock had dissapeared not to mention the bits it did manage to get right all the track had changed,any comments gratefully recieved,just dont want to waste another £30+ on another program that wont work.please dont tell me about turning off anti virus,dissconnecting from the web,database repairs etc as i have allready tried all them.thanks for your time folks.

You should be able to run it comparing it against the specs listed. I have found though that sometimes the specs listed, are not enough to run the program.

Yours, however, seem to fit it perfectly .

To be honest, I haven't found the need to upgrade from 2009 but thats just my opinion .

There 1000s of us using 10 with no problem.Are you installing 10 as a stan alone game? Did you import all your stuff all at once?
Trainz 10 is a good game as TS12 is but if you are having problem with 10 then i believe you will have problems with TS12.
What kind of problems did you have installing 10 and where did you buy it from?
What build is 10 at the moment?
Can you register it?
Are running it as adminstrator?
Just some questions to shed some light on your problem.

Many thanks for you comments danny5,as i said itried 5 or 6 times to get it to install but it just kept on crashing(blue screen)eventually i did get it installed ,then i needed to patch from 42203 to sorry cant remember latest build but the patch would not take,i got my copy as a present it was purchased from JUST TRAINZ could this be the problem?thanks again for your help

First, TS12 will probably run decently on your machine. As for TS2010, the patches are different for the Just Trains version, I believe. Check for the patches at their website. Most of these major third-party services have their own Trainz builds and, thus, need their own patches.

Also, after doing an extended database repair, do you do a validation? Look in the TS2010 forum at the sticky about items incorrectly being marked as faulty. Zec Murphy's post details how to do an EDR followed by a validation. I suspect this might be an issue if assets seem to be disappearing as you described.
