trainz 2010 tree problem

Trainz Extraordinaire
on trainz 2010, the trees are spread out on each branch and sometimes when im far away they look like a flat green wall and only when i zoom in it becomes detailed:'( :'( :'(

Thats the wonders of LOD meshes. When you are far away it loads a basic mesh, the closer you get, the more detail appears. It's to stop a route with hunderds of trees killing your computer as you don't really need high quality trees if they're miles away from the track

An unfortunate result, on my system, is that the distant trees look like a collection of sets of leaves. That is each leaf set has a narrow black border which prevents it from visually melding, at a distance, into the overall tree. The result is similar to green cotton balls hung from the branches. As you go out further the blob effect occurs.

Speed trees really needs a slider to allow viewing distance to be adjusted to the customer's PC's capabilities. The arbitrary settings, while preserving FPS, detract from the speed trees more than a few hundred meters from the tree.

Because of the "LOD effect" I usually avoid them and instead use addon trees set back from the track. Slightly blurred trees or hi-definition trees, only close-up, is the compromise.
