Trainz 2010 EE - Download includes latest SP?

Having had a few problems with the version already installed, most notably the portals showing errors on a new install, I was thinking of downloading the files from the server again.
Just wondering if those downloads have all the Service Packs already included.

The reason I ask is that the files I already had on backup, which is what I used to install recently, were version 43434, which is SP3.
Then, on the website, I notice patches for SP3 HotFix which takes it to version 44088, and then another SP3 patch which takes it to 49933.
On top of that, there's another service pack (SP4) which doesn't seem to be relevant because it's from a build number that's not achievable from any of the patches (another publisher, perhaps?).

On the recent install, I used the auto patcher, which gave errors before finishing, and is probably the cause of my problems now, so I'm looking to do it manually this time, and without errors.

If the files on the server are all-inclusive, then I'll download them.
Otherwise, I'll disable all my security, run them as admin, and hope for the best.

Auran/N3V have always been a nightmare with installations and patches compared to other software, and I've never worked out why. :)

As usual, any help much appreciated.

Hi Smiley,

Don't go any higher than 49933 which will give you the backward compatibility and the ability to run new stuff as well. SP4 for TS2010 is for multiplayer and removes the backward compatibility option for older assets.

Your call, but this is what the difference is. After that it's TS12...

John

Thanks John.
Doesn't sound like something I'd like to use anyway. ;)

I only need this to test my assets as I build them anyway, while I'm waiting for T:ANE.
And I'll probably buy TS12 soon just to support N3V.

I'm still getting 1 error on the last patch, although everything seems to work fine anyway.

Ready to install from local patch file.Current version: 44088.

Patching completed.

It's not important now anyway, I don't think, but if this was the current version of Trainz, I wouldn't be happy. :)

N3V and their economy patchers, eh? lol

Brian.

If you are having troubles with the downloads it's due to their squirrel powered server that has a sieve for the network that lets the bits drop out. :)

I agree I too would be a bit more miffed it was the current version.

John

Lol. Yeah, I've heard their servers taking a lot of stick since I've been back, but no problem downloading for me.
Took less than half hour for all files.

It's just the second patch giving that error that was the problem.
After several reinstalls, using every possible way of helping it, I'm convinced it's unavoidable.
And everything seems fine in game, so it will do until I get TS12 and T:ANE.

Mainly for testing scripts and 3d models anyway....maybe a little route building. :)

It's not you, or what you are trying to accomplish, Brian. It's definitely something from their end... Our discussion has jogged my brain cells a bit and I remember I tried this exercise about a year ago and had the same results you are having now.

My mind is a bit lost sometimes and I have a difficult time remembering things... I recently threw a butter knife away and put the peanut butter jar in the fridge for some unknown reason, and I even caught myself doing that a second time after being "spoken to" by the family. :)

I agree TS2010 as you have it now is great for testing purposes. :)
