Trainz 2010 a trial version?

G'day,

My Trainz 2010 has all of a sudden become a trial version which has expired!?!

I assume this is a temporary hiccup with the Auran database?

I purchased Trainz 2010 online last year and have been using it successfully ever since.

My name and password are not recognised.

George.

Hi George,

Please contact our helpdesk, and let them know which CD KEY(s) you're using and where you purchased the products. They'll sort things out for you.

cheers,

chris

There are some Russian users that have encountered the same issue http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showpost.php?p=767656&postcount=1 , what should I relay to them? Contact the Helpdesk? I'm afraid with the khm 'lightning speed' helpdesk is working now they would be very upset.

First port of call is probably to check that they do, in fact, have a legitimate copy of Trainz. For example, the post that you are linking to shows a screenshot of TS2010, but their user account only shows TS2009 registered. Asking the user to register their TS2010 key with Planet Auran might be a good start.

You got to be kidding. I have an open ticket on the NON-help desk for over 6 weeks and never was answered. Good luck on getting your problem fixed in 2011 if you use the NON-help desk.

I did explain in that other thread that the helpdesk are skipping over more complex tickets so that the correct amount of time can be given to them by dealing with the simpler ones first.

Well an extended repair of the database failed to fix the problem so have raised a ticket with critical level ;) and will apparently be responded to within five days ...

I imagine it must be a case of database corruption at Auran which occurred while I was confirming and reconfirming my Internet identity ... frequently only way to get onto the download station.

George,

If you are getting a message about your user name and password when entering Content Manager then that might be an altogether different problem then our Russian friends are having. What you are seeing might be caused by the N3V servers being down or your settings being corrupt. There are several threads here about fixing the corrupted settings. If I recall correctly, mostly it involves clearing out the username and password fields and re-entering them and or resetting your password at the Trainz forum website.

Well the problem has been sorted out ... although hundreds were apparently afflicted, judging by another thread here.

I purchased a digital copy from Auran in 2010 ... it stopped working a few days ago so I lodged a ticket with Auran and was asked by Zec Murphy, Customer Support Rep, to provide an image of my serial number, which I did.

Overnight the problem was corrected. I have asked for a reason but have so far not received one.

Zec if yo uare reading this, I and am sure dozens if not hundreds of other users afflicted by this problem deserve an answer ....

Whatever, you do, do not uninstall the game or otherwise mess with your computer, it's not your fault.

Can I ask you to refer me to the thread where "hundreds were .. afflicted" ?

As noted on the other thread, we haven't changed anything on our end. I expect that you changed something on your end while trying to figure out what was going on, possibly relating to the CD KEYs.

cheers,

Chris,

Judging by what Termin said above http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=70565 and http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=59650 might be what george is talking about but then again I might be wrong.

Chris, here's why I said that hundreds were affected, to quote another thread.

"The same thread http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showt...733#post767733.

There are lots (some hundred) of users with registered keys of ts2010 that became "obsolete" yesterday."

What does concern me is your statement is that you have changed nothing at your end ... so what's the problem. Have you been able to figure it out?

To the best of our knowledge, and granted that we only have the error message to go off, some people are using illegitimate versions of Trainz. Helpdesk should be able to figure it out on a case-by-case basis.

I look forward to the answer from the Helpdesk ...

I'd be careful about accusing someone of using illegitimate copies though. All you have to do is to click on my profile to see purchases and when you took my money ...
