I am posting this thread to ask if Trainz 2009 will work okey with windows seven. I hope to buy a new computer soon, and wish to know if I will have any problems, useing 2009. Also could any body advise as to what I should buy, (computer wise) to get the best out of 2009, and mayby 2010. Thank you.

Hi Mallard,

Yes TS2009 works fine with windows 7 64bit. But as usual you need a good graphics card to go with it and the more memory the better.

I am using an i7 860cpu at 2.8gig with an ATI 5770 1 gig DDR5 graphics card and 4 gigs 1333mHz ram. Have been getting frame rates exceding 100fps but now limited the fps to about 60.

Cheers,
Bill69.

Hello Mallard.
I have an off the shelf HP p6207c with 64 bit Windows 7 and Trainz 2009 runs great.

Hello Mllard,

My wife and I enjoy Trainz equally well although I do all the layout work and I just bought her a Dell Studio XPS 8100 Win 7 64 bit 8GB computer with a GeForce 240, 1GB video card. Her computer runs like it owns Trainz TS2010. I also have Ubisoft IL-2 on it which I fly on-line with and again it is so smooth.

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 4GB RAM with a ATI Radion HD 2600 XT video card. Frame rates are a lot less on mine but still above 30.

I dont have anything to do with Dell but I will say they have treated me extremely well and I would recommend them to anyone.

Hi Harold,

I don't know how Dell's prices are in the states but they are very expensive in NZ. I got a quote from Dell NZ before buying my new computer and they were just over $200 dearer that one I could buy off the shelf in a computer shop in Wellington. I ended up building one myself and saved even more cash. So just a hint to Mallard, Have a good look around at different sources before you jump in and buy one. I don't have anything against Dell other than price.
Cheers,
Bill69
