Trainz 2006 actually downloading content

I just tried my version of trainz 2006, and for some very odd reason, it was actually able to download content, though some of the content was not able to download because of newer version's. Could someone please explain why it's able to do this? Is it because I registered my trainz 2012 serial key the other day for my copy of trainz 2012? Also, i never registered the serial key for trainz 2006, but why am i able to use it now?And it was the download manager in Content creator Plus for Trainz 2006.

Yes, a valid serial number registered to your username gives you access to download from the DLS all assets made for the registered version and earlier versions.

I would like to add that if you want to download the earlier versions of the content you want in TRS2006 you can do providing the content is on the D/S.
First locate the content in the online black pages (they can be original trainz UTC TRS2004 or TRS2006) click on the download page for the item = the old original
file and not an updated version then select download via the FTP. option this will allow the CDP to be downloaded to a folder on your PC.
Do not choose to download via the download helper because if you do all that will happen is that it will download the latest version which wont work in TRS2004

ok, but still, before i registered my serial number for trainz 2012, it told me to register my serial key for Trainz 2006, and still, my copy of trainz 2010, that content manager won't allow me to download content still. So why 2006 and not also 2010?

Why not just register your 2006 and 2010 and have no issues?
