Can i remove all of the content from this route and put the stuff in i want.

You can do everything you like on your local install.
Have fun deleting a gazillion objects.

Only when you start distributing things you might run into (legal) trouble.

Whatever you do, you would still end up not able to import it into TS2010 if that's what you had in mind.
