Trains pulling up close to Buffers?

AL, hopefully your idea about using PEV’s Trainz Mesh Viewer will be helpful to many users.

Some of the more technically challenged (and I’m probably the prime candidate!) might find even the prospect of using it a little daunting.

Having seen a similar question on another Trainz related forum today I’m pretty sure that Joe_T’s terminus is different to the one I’ve used as an example. With mine though, you can see the track under the platform in Driver>Tracking view, but not the trackmark.

However you can see both in Surveyor using the Alt-U (Alt”fly” in older versions) command and sinking under the concrete. All of the tracks extend to the back wall.

Here is how I do it: As everybody says, extend the end of the track with an invisible track and place an end of track, normally with a buffer. Now lay a short piece of invisible track near-by. Place you choice buffer over it. Holding the shift key, move this invisible track with the buffer so that it overlays perfectly over the visible end of track. Then play with adjusting trigger radius tool over the track mark so that the train will stop right where you want. And that is all there is to it!
 
All station track will have an end point for track to be added. The spline point wont always be visible. When you place a buffer it normaly will act as a red signal. If you place an invisible signal just after it the buffer will become a caution and allow the train nearer the buffer. You may have to play with the distance of the invisible signal. Most buffers in this way allow the train to hit the buffer at a slow speed and stop.
 
Never check out buffers but do they have radises like switches & track marks if so you could change that. I would change it to 00.10.

Danny is correct, Buffers have an adjustable effective radius just like switches. No need for complicated workarounds.
