trains 2012 bugs

hi, i recently purchased trains 2012. i always thought that `out of date`in content manager means that all files where out of date, i searched through the forums, and came to the conclusion that that was not true,now i have a strange problem, if i go to search in content manager and then make a filter, out of date true + location local, it shows 799 updates, the same as the in game updater says, Buw now if i update via content manager,then it update fine, but then there are still files in the queue that aren`t downloaded or installed, if i delete them out of the queue and then highlight them all then it says searching... for a couple of minute and above it says 0 kb of 0 kb????, if i click start the files are gone ( in the queue, if i download the updates via ingame, then after a couple of minutes it has crashed????, anyone ideas?

Run an EDR (Extended Database Repair) and see if they download then, It may take a long time, depends on your PC's capability but let it finish, it should fix the in game updater as well. It is normal for a few, not 700 odd though, to get stuck on occasions. I've got one thats been stuck for three days now, I'm just ignoring it for now. I think the database is sometimes ahead of the actual files being on the FTP server, they should clear eventually. Better to download updates via Content manager a screenful at a time and not all at once until it gets down to a manageable level.

ok, i will do that . i let the updater run again, and now i only have 15 updates left, and they won`t download, another strange thing is, if i take a route and i let the AI drive to a station it says no [atj to selected destination, it says that by all the installed defeult routes..

hi, i let the EDR run now i get this, http://imageshack.us/f/109/trainzk.png/ the files still won`t download, ( if i add the remaining 15 to the queue) i get searching and then nothing,, if i click start it does nothing, i tried the in-game updater, and its the same, it says 15, but i click download all nothing happens, and still get no path to slected destination if i try to let the ai drive to a station or something,,

hey, the updates wont download, id i press download all it changes to stop and then download all,

It depends on how you are downloading the updates.

Can I check exactly how you are doing it, step by step?

Search by Location = Local and Out of Date = True. Select all (Ctrl+A). Right click any item, choose View Asset Versions. Select All again, and right click and choose Download.

As of today, everything should download.

thanks, but it still won`t work, i do view in main list and then the files came up ( are auto highlighted) then i choose download but it doesn`t do anything? i click start and they disappear?

Have you got your version patched to 49922 (or higher)? Check this on the Launcher screen.

When you clicked Download, did any errors appear at the bottom, or any of the assets turn red?

hi , if i click on view assets, and then view in main list and then rightclick -download, they appear in the download helper...then it says searching.. and after that i click start.. they dissappear ??

It may be worth doing an extended database repair if you haven't already, as the assets in question may already be installed.

Hang on...... think we may be missing something obvious. Win7 run as Administrator? as per Shane's instructions. http://trainz.shaneturner.co.uk/tutorials/index.php?page=running-as-administrator.

Those updates are quite old by the way so shouldn't be stuck, the items that are not in the original folder, if its the same ones all the time I'd delete them and download them again.

hmmz yeah.. that is the only thing it can be, but the problem is i am running the game via steam..so how can i then run it as admin ?

R/click on the desktop launcher and select run as admin, you have to be admin on the computer user accounts though.
