Train stops

Seeking help to a problem with trains coming to shuddering stop at stations. The train travelling at 60 MPH approaches the station, then as reaches the end of the platform comes to a full stop then re-continues it schedule. I’ve checked for invisible signals etc but nothing shows. Any ideas what it could be?

This has always been an issue with the interactive stations. The AI can pass by them fine, but if the human is driving, we will get trapped by the station script and end up getting stuck. I don't know how to solve this issue because I haven't done much manual driving in ages, in fact little driving at all for that matter and mostly route building instead.

I haven't seen this in 9, 10, 12 or T:ANE. Does it happen with one particular station asset? Which one or ones? (Is the train scheduled to stop at that station in any way?)

:B~)

It’s a typical UK local station (kuid2:1942:28131:1) Author Terry Franks. Where this station is installed on routes whether 12, 19 or 22 the issue is the same.
The train express runs under AI and does not stop.

Try substituting stations, it may have something to do with the script used in his stations because I used to use them all the time myself and that's when it occurred. This led me to think that it was a program bug, but apparently it is not.

Hi John, I think you are right. These stations were from way back at 1.3 and they will have trouble keeping up with the newer versions. I used to use them as well from 2004 but gave them up around TS12, maybe sooner. I do recall a fix for the GS file in TS12 but that escapes me now as to what the fix was. There were about 5 triggers on each platform for train length and this was the issue eventually. The new AI cannot decide where the train should stop or if it should stop at all. One issue you may remember was where the train would slow down - and then speed up and stop leaving maybe one coach still on the platform?

My advice would be to follow your suggestion and replace these stations for something newer.

Doug, yes I looked over the script which does show the triggers but not knowing enough about the programming side, decided to substitute with another station. Shame really as they are a nice looking station, hopefully someone will look at the script and update it. Kuid2:1942:28038:1 On the DLS they’re listed as ‘Station A1 & Station A2’.

I remember that slowdown issue, and actually forgot about it until you mentioned it. I do remember there being a fix but don't remember what it was either.

Since there's a program being implemented to update scripts, I wonder if these stations are on the list as well. Unfortunately, the list is humungous, and it'll be a while before anything is done if they are.
