The train museum that Im displaying here is the Steamtown Museum in Pennsly that I visited a while back. Most of the trains there are in  shape, but some are okay. The eerie part of the museum is that the middle of it feels like a junkyard. :'( Quite depressing really.
:mop:

Well anyway, here are some screenies

Unsure of the name (Could tell me:p )

Hello Trainguy557

Please reduce the size of your images so that they do not exceed 800 by 600 pixels. For your reference Auran Trainz Code of Conduct #18 states:

"Screen shots posted to the Trainz Community Discussion Forums should be in .jpg format and not exceed a maximum resolution of 800x600 pixels*. Any screen shots that exceed this limit will be modified to links or removed from the post altogether.

*The only exception to this is within the Screenshot forum. Screen shots posted to the Screenshot forum should be in .jpg format and not exceed a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels, however, if your screen shot exceeds 800x600 you are required to include the maximum resolution used in the title of the thread."

Cheers

I've been to the Orange Empire Railroad Museum in Parris, California.
http://www.oerm.org/
I think it started as a trolley museum and grew from there.
They have trolley rides and a train that runs all the way to Parris. (I think it runs about a half mile from the museum grounds.)

I've also been to the Campo Railroad Museum, the San Diego Railroad Museum and the Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum. The last one seems to be the current name. I hope they keep it.
http://www.sdrm.org/
They have an excellent collection of mainline equipment in the main yard at Campo, California, including a military MRS-1 road switcher from each, EMD and Alco, and domestic road switchers like the Baldwin AS-616 and a Fairbanks Morse. They even had a presidential campaign car.
They'll be running down into Mexico and all the way over to East Tijuana at the end of February.

 Claude

Well I've been to a few railroad museums.
1) California State Railroad Museum (I've been a member there since 1994 and I'm 15 years old:hehe:)
2) Western Railway Museum
3) Nevada State Railroad Museum
4) Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum in Japan
5) There was another in Japan (I don't remember the name though. There was a D51 on display out front. And there were excursions pulled by a diesel)

http://www.hodrrm.org is where I most frequently fritter away my Saturdays--I'm a car host there.

Also been to (off the top of my head):
North Alabama RR Museum
Tennessee Valley RR Museum
Southeastern RR Museum
North Carolina Museum of Transportation
National Museum of Transportation (St. Louis, MO)
Granite City Passenger Terminal (sort of a railroad museum/private railcar excursion staging area across the river from St. Louis, still under construction)
Whitefish, MT Depot
Etowah, TN Depot
Paducah RR Museum
Cass Scenic
The museum in Century, AL/FL (right on the border they have a steam loco they're restoring--not sure of the name)
Bessemer, AL depot
Lake Superior Railroad Museum (Cozmo's stomping grounds ;))
Steamtown
And (this summer) Steam Railroading Institute (Owosso, MI--home of 1225)
Plus multitude other static displays/old depots that I can't remember at the moment.

I spend most of my travel time on the rails instead of at museums. :p

EDIT: There was also Vasúttörténeti park in Budapest.

I wasn't planning on building it (my route-building skills are dismal at best). I was just curious.

Actually, I am going to built one -- these guys on this thread has posted up some great links, and I got a couple of ideas I might play with in the future ...

BTW Outstanding thread!! :p

thanks
Ish

Well, the good things about Steamtown are that those pieces won't be going anywhere for a while. And since it is a museum, they will restore them, eventually.

Here are museums I visited:

WM Scenic RR
B&O RR museum
Strasburg RR & RR Museum of PA
Gaithersburg RR Museum
Smithsonian
PA Trolley Museum
Savannah Historic RR shops
Chattanooga Choo Choo
Kennesaw Civil War Museum
Southeastern Rwy Museum
Blue Ridge Scenic RR
Stone Mountain RR
Horseshoe Curve

I've been to the one and only North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer,NC. The Museum is right at the Linwood Yard near Salisbury,NC. I tend to go to it's annual Rail Days event, in which the train rides are free, including both diesel and steam. It also has model railroad displays in N and HO Scale and Chili Cook offs. I recommend this place to anyone espicially on the Rail Days, which I rode the trains at least 15 times and seen over 30 trains.
