Train dangles from tracks, spills fuel

The train apparently failed to stop and almost ran off the tracks. According to federal regulations, the bridge is to be maintained in the open position to vessels and the draw may close only for the crossing of trains and maintenance.

As the bridge does not automaticly close, the engineer should have been prepared to stop and wait. It looks like he was going too fast to stop in time, and ran a red signal.

He might've tried to outrun an opening.

well, had that diesel fuel went further than where the blockade was,I fear that it could have been worse!:(

GO back to steam locmotives powering trains.:)

What does that have to do with anything, a diesel locomotive derailed and spilled diesel fuel into the water and this is a very serious matter we are talking about and lives were in danger at that time of the accident and what I'm trying to say is,the subject of steam locomotives does not belong here!:n:
