Track Laying Problem.

I am building a route which is up to now 31 miles long. But now when I add more
track, the spline circles appears but there is no sign of any track. When I exit surveyor
and then return, the 'invisible' track is now visible.
Any ideas, anyone, what is the cause of this, and what can I do to put it right.

Hi Dick,

Which track are you using?

There are issues with some track having this issue. I've put down about 65 miles on a route I'm working on and there haven't been any problems like that and I'm using some track from Jointed Rail, which came with one of their routes.

I have had some stuff happen to me in Trainz before, like on a route where it is supposed to be joint CN and GO Transit and the track would not appear.

This happens to me whenever I use fairly high detailed track....like that Russian TSM track....the more you add, eventually that 2gb memory limit gets reached and it stops drawing content immediately. You may find that by doing a "Replace Content" and change the track to something much lower in detail that it'll all appear again.

This issue happened a lot for me in earlier versions of TANE. I just restarted the game to get around it, but eventually just used low detail track that I replaced later with more appropriate track.

I get something similar where I have laid the track but when I go move the spline the spline circle goes where I put it but the track does not move. It is a bit random but if I save and re load the route the track has moved to where I put the spline.

It depends on the track you used, (and possibly your PC specs?)
I had that problem a few times with a concrete track I wanted to use for an AI commuter route. I would normally find issues with the tracks being rendered/displayed on my screen, since it's a high resolution/detailed track, just like what Steve said. I decided to switch most of the concrete track to the JR Wood Track, since it takes less of my PC's memory and the JR wood track seems to fit more with my AI commuter route.. A few parts of my route still has the concrete track, since it has some important signals and triggers set for the AI commuter line.
As I have mentioned, you can replace all of the track you used to something you feel more comfortable having on your route.
Cheers

Hi Bryan,

You know that you can use the replace assets tool to replace track too and it keeps all your triggers, and signals in place. I've done that more than once quite successfully.

True. Most of the time, I usually reroute lines and triggers after a while. I'm typically the person who likes to change their route lines after a while :p
