I've laid a track through my coal mine and thinking all was well I sent a coal train through the mine to load up,having got to other side to my horror I found I had a steep gradient on the track and once the loaded wagons passed over the brow I found the train was building up speed due to the weight,I would like to decrease the gradient but all attempts have been to no avail, can anyone advise me please :o

Hello derekelse,

You've probably done some landscaping after you've laid your track. To prevent this in surveyor open the options menu and check "use fixed spline heights". In other versions than ts2006 it's maybe called different, I don't know. Now to remedy what's happened open the tracklaying tab and open the advanced settings. On the now shown first row of buttons press the most left one. Now you can alter the height of each splinepoint in the track by hand when you hold down the left mouse button while hoovering over it. (again in ts2006)

Hope this helped.:)

HI: Off of Launcher click on start..click on surveyor..click Track Tab..Go to bottom of tab click on Advanced..to set gradient(click on 0.00 to change)..click on gradient button..click on track you have layed(click on the right of spline circle)..This is how I do it in TRS2009..

Most RR gradients should be less than 2%...any greater and it gets unprototypical, as a 4% grade is like Saluda Grade. I try to keep my grades to no more than a maximum of 1.25% - 1.80%
