TOPSIG iPortaling

I would prefer to do sesssions on Friday afternoons and evenings, Saturday evenings, and all day Sunday. Wednesday evenings would also work for me. <-- That schedule works mainly around anything before June 6th. After that I should be available almost all day, every day. Since we aren't doing iPortalling tonight, I will not bother to leave open. I may change my mind however. If some people happen to jump online and you see me on in iTrainz after 8:00 PM EST, assume that I have left my iPortal route open and up for passage of trains. I have portals set to check for trains every 10 minutes. The east iPortal (GNE) is set to send to UPW of jamesfaa and the west iPortal (GNW) is set to send to PRRE of kenrouf. For those of you who aren't Ken or James, DO NOT bother to send trains on my route as you will probably lose your train unless James or Ken are online and in THEIR iPortal route.

My iPortal route will not be up tonight as iTrainz is down. I am not sure if this prevents iPortalling but it does not allow for communication between people when sending trains.

Ok, so I had to remake the consist file for rolling stock. Thanks to some one who didn't get me their list of 6 cars when I asked for it and waited until the last minuet.

Danny, I know I left out a few of your cars, I could not find them. I put is some cars though that should fill that gap.

Ok had a bad problem last night and ended up reinstalling trains. I saved my route but just finished updated this morning. I will install route and all needed for iPortal tonight when I get home so if we are on for tonight I will be a hair late.
Hmm... must have been that time of the month as I had to do a reinstall also last night. I seem to be back in buisness with nothing lost.

I was a little disappointed when I downloaded the new TOPSIG consist file. I checked the contained assets and my stuff still hadn't made it it there. I am thinking I will probably just do it myself, but not right now. There are festivities to attend to this weekend.

I need kuids GN, not names.
One of the things I would like to address is our commodities. It seams like we all consume or produce quite a bit. But there are some lose strings. Ive started color coding things that are both produced and consumed by 2 people. If it is not colored, its needs a producer/consumer. So, before I make an official announcement on when we start, I'd like to see these lose ends taken care of. Id hate to see a full train of pipe load 1 and pipe load 2 with no where to go. If you want to know what the product's KUID is or any other info about a product, contact the person who produces/consumes said product.

Im interested in joining, it wont be for a little while tho as Im in the process of making my route.
Main line from South Bend to Chicago is laid down(aprox 75 miles) and the 2 lines that will connect to the iportals are in flux atm. 80 miles aprox from east portal to Chicago with the west portal about 15 miles southwest.
In the process of determining what industries to put down, so far consume oil and coal for the power plant and refinery and produce corn, wheat, diesel, avgas and petrol.
Will be putting in a massive steel mill on the southern tip of Lake Michigan so steel products will be available as well.
As far as days and hours, Im available 7 days a week 24 hours a day so no problems with days and times. Disabled vet on VA disability.

Thanks Bluerall for serving our country, I'm running a little behind schedule. I'm thinks about using GN's Thompson & Western route (with his promission on updating a few industries for my use only). I was thinking about if i use T&W if I could incorporate other railroads since NS only have certain car types. I will have to add some more motive power though, if I use the NS Dash-9 that are built in can other people see them if I sent them through the portals?
As far as industries go I'm not sure yet on every thing but i will produce coal and consume coal for sure with only one operating power plant (Kent and Noxon power plants will close down so I can run super long Multi-unit trains).
Also another thing we could add would be evens happen like rock slides, locomotive trouble, etc.
*Note: not done yet.

Welcome Bluerail, what railroad will you be representing? So far we have CSX, NS, PRR, UP, DRGW, ATSF and Great Northern. JIb228 will let you know all the particulars and assign you a position in the mix. I assume you have read the OP, we have a spread sheet that contain commodities consume/produce so we can plan on train consists. I believe we have a TeamSpeek server that we can use also.
iPortaling is fun and none of us have our routes finished just like a model railroad is it ever done!

Id like to pint out some thing, or at least ask for a little help here. Its kind a stressful trying to manage all of this, and I was pondering if there was some one who'd like to come aboard and help out a little. All I ask is that some one step up to be in charge of content management. This way I can focus on keeping other aspects, such as product flow, possible detailed operations (Such as scheduled trains), and work on my 2 routes.
Just for interest, I might snuffle a few people around, nothing to dramatic. Also, Id like to aim for the 29th as our first official session. But that date is not set in stone. We still have lots of blank commodities that need a consumer or producer though. Id like to see them filled up before we really get started.
Id like to pint out some thing, or at least ask for a little help here. Its kind a stressful trying to manage all of this, and I was pondering if there was some one who'd like to come aboard and help out a little.
