I did just that, I have a 3 board long staging yard at each end ~ 3 tracks but can add more if needed. I send my trains to the staging yard VIA AI then do the iPortal manually.
That's not quite what I meant Ken. What I mean is use the clone consist tool to clone the train over to a staging yard. After doing that, you will have two instances of one train. The original train can then be sent through the iPortal. If the player it was sent to recieves it, good. The cloned train can be deleted. Maybe though, the person recieving the train forgot to download a dependency for the train that was sent. All that work that other players did is now lost and you can bet that somebody is going to get upset at some point because of an event like I have described. Now wait a second, there is a clone of that train. Now the player who forgot one dependency can go and try to find what they missed and everybody's work is still there. After getting the dependency, the cloned train can be re-cloned and sent again. If the player recieves the train, sweet. Life goes on and the cloned train that is in the "staging" yard can now be deleted. There is only one major flaw with my plan though. When a consist is cloned, the loaded cars that are cloned do not become loaded after cloning. (That was pre-SP1, they may have fixed that with the patch. I will see about testing that some time.)
BTW: Jib im going to look on the DLS for some NS Gensets (could I own some Ex-CR ones).
Yes my port will porduce some type of wood when its built.I think I can produce some coal. (Have many coal mines on route) but can use other things ( like wood )
Danny that is great news i didn't know that. learned something new today. I have a Question and I've looked through this thread and have not seen it. Are we doing single track Portals or Double Track?
-iPortal IDs are your railroads reporting marks, followed by an E or W. This means that if your iPortal is on the West end of your railroad and you are BNSF your portal ID would be BNSFW, and BNSFE for your East portal. (You can have an In and out portal. Just point your out portal at the next player, but give it no ID. And set your in portal to have an ID but don't point it at any one.)
