To n3v...SIMPLIFY the damn game

"WOW...very interesting...a map w/ all named industries not just ind1-ind2 etc...where did this map come from & why am I not able to locate it?"

It's "DowntownTraction Co". But to use that session you will have to upgrade to TS12.

It would help if you knew just what the RR industry does, and how the RR's go about it.

John

Yes, that would help because right now I figure it revolves around picking up & dropping cars off for a certain price...Right now I'm attempting to put a coal using industry & a coal producing one on the "Conrail Lincoln Secondary route" so that I can load up & drop off. I've managed to put some locos & a loaded coal consist on the tracks. By the replies I've received it should be a simple matter of laying down the industries. I would also like to make the oil plant at the northern end work. Since the manual is all I have to follow I will make a serious attempt to try & figure Trainz out. I don't know how knowing about the RR industry is going to help me but what I do know is that I need to check out Railworks because I've been told it's more of a game sim then Trainz...which is what I'm looking for. I do not wish to constantly have to work forums to understand things...I like good graphics & realistic detail combined w/ operating simplicity , like the trucker sim " American Long Haul "...I also know that I will never post another comment about Trainz because it seems to set off a fire storm of in-coming if it's not deemed positive...It seems like I've written a small novel answering all the posts & that's already way to much involvement for someone who just wants to load up a train, drive it somewhere, unload & get paid for it while having a shot & a beer & not having to become involved in complex programming to do it...well that's about it for me on the subject...take care...semper fi...kurt max 2321291 usmc

I have that session on TS2010 & it works fine but I can't find some of the places that the session instructions mention...also I can't find the flat cars that I'm supposed to load w/ lumber...there's 3 consists of bx cars at the spot where they're supposed to be...take care...kurt max

Hi Tom --

"...give me a list of industries & what they accept & produce..."

That's not necessary. The most flexible of the interactive industries is "Multiple Industry New". This can be configured to produce and consume all the commodities that are in your Trainz folder.

If you need help configuring it, just call for help.

And when used on a route it allows for complex traffic flows, like this on "DowntownTraction company

Thanks for that one, multiple ind new...sounds like something that would make things simpler...gonna try using it w/ Conrail Lincoln Secondary route & see what happens....kurt max

Kurit,
You need to remove your s/n from your message!

Not really...more in line w/ the trucker sim " American Long Haul " or "Extreme Trucker 2"...I'm not looking for cartoons...take care...kurt max

Glad to hear it! Various people have worked out ways to make the game more realistic as far as delivering and picking up freight, I believe that's the purpose of the CMT system.

Although I could still imagine a version where gold coins are hidden throughout a route!;)

If you want a coal producing and coal consuming, just place a powerstation at one end and a coal mine at the other, and then connect the track between them.
