I found a "cheap" SD90MAC, the real deal, and it's in PA!

Looks like an ACe with that nose
They are really easy to mistake for one from the front. Seen a couple of them before.... You have to look at the back, on the SD90's, it is not rounded where it is one the ACe. Plus, the SD90MAC is longer than the ACe.... (Wouldn't notice from the front).
If only it had a custom repaint into the Indiana Railroad 9025 25th Anniversary scheme then some problems on this forum would be solved.
Erm no, there's quite a few ways to definitely spot the difference.Don't forget that the area around the exhaust stack on the SD90MAC is flat, while on the SD70ACe and SD70M-2 is beveled. That's the only definite way to determine if it's a SD90MAC or SD70ACe/SD70M-2.

from overhead views, the SD70ACe has a single, beveled exhaust stack, the SD90MAC-H2 has two flat exhaust stacks (one per turbocharger)
yea but that piece of - content is not worth $130,000,000. heck it was probably only just over $2,500,000 brand new.
Those 4,300HP units are labeled as SD9043MAC's. Like with the GE AC6000's, there was an option to rate those engines to 6000 HP, but since they too had a motherload of issues, the good ones never got upgraded............The 90's with the beveled engine compartments have the true 6,000 hp 16-265H prime movers. The 90's with the square engine compartments have the 4,300 hp 16-710 prime movers.
