This is the Video Settings box in TS2009 SP4 and later versions (be aware there may be a few variations in TS2010 and TS12)

For newer users, here is an explanation, and my thoughts on good settings for each option.

Maximum Draw Distance - can be set between 1500m and 5000m. If you have a powerful system, you can set it to 5000m. If it is not very powerful, it may be better to set it lower.
Scenery Detail, Texture Detail - these two can be set to Low, Medium, or High. High is recommended if you have a reasonable system, although if it is stuttering, lowering these to Medium or Low may help, albeit a reduction in quality.
Antistropy - Can be set from 1-16, only use 16 if you have a powerful system, as this will affect performance a lot. I usually have mine set to 1 to minimise stuttering.
Train Detail - similar to Scenery and Texture Detail, but this only affects locomotives and rolling stock.
Good/Bad weather fog - having this set to about 0.2 to 0.4 will reduce the graphics 'artifacts' and may improve performance.
Gamma - If this is set below the default (1.0), the screen will look darker. If set above 1.0, the screen will look brigher. Use with caution as having the gamma set too high may damage the monitor.

Enable In-game video - this only affects if videos are used in the rules for the Session, via Play Video.
Auto-hide menu bar - this tick-box affects whether the menu bar is always shown or whether it is only shown when the cursor is at the top of the screen.

Enable Compatibility mode for older content - most of the time, this only needs to be ticked if you are using Faulty content, or content that does not display properly in Native mode (like the older alpha-blended trees). Note: TS2010 SP4 and TS12 do not have this option.

Next coming up: Surveyor Settings.

Hi Shane:

This is great information that hopefully will be useful to at least some users. Thanks for posting it. :)

I fixed what looked like a typo in your tags (I changed "optios" to "options"), by the way. :) Feel free to revert this change if that was not a typo.

Regards,

Zachary.

Hi Zachary,

Thankyou for your comments on my blog post. They are appreciated.

Yes, the optios was a typo, so I thank you for fixing it for me. My guess is that the 'n' key got stuck again.
