okay , i am making a whistle and i already made a new asset and then i also edited the sounds with the 44100 and 32 so now i am trying to figure out how do i get them into trainz now?
i have as follows : Horn_start
Horn_loop
Horn_end
and now the config file now when i try to shoot these streight into trainz i get a
Warning: Unsupported file type for 'C:\Users\Adam\Desktop\Wabash Nickel Plate Whistle.cdp/horn_start.wav'

now this error is the one i am getting stuck on and having a hard time figured out so help me this is my first time doing this and i would like to learn how who ever can help me Thank you very much!!!

What do you mean , if you mean to convert the files to that i just did and have resulted with the same error i was getting before with the unsupported file.......

What sound editor are you using? To the best of my knowledge Trainz will not use any frequency other than 22050hz, 16 bit, mono, so if you have a 22khz 32 bit stereo you need to do whatever it takes to resample the WAV file and save it as 22,050hz, 16 bit, mono. Far as I know Trainz won't do anything else, 8 bit or 11khz is no good either.

I am using Wavepad Sound Editor wasn't quite sure what i should have been using so i used this one questions are being answered with multiple questions ( in my content manager i have a file on there that has the exact name of what i want my whistle to be because i created it, now question is how do i have my sounds that i made to get onto that file that i created in content manager? the files when i import them say that they are unsupported file types and i am getting confused and when i watch the tutorials all of them are showing this edit in explorer and i cannot do that because when i try to it never shows any files such as config and all that jazz..... so needless to say edit in explorer is useless to me so i need help trying to get my sounds to work here in trainz ??

Think I told you when you first came you were trying to do too much too fast, if you don't stop to learn how to start the car and put it in gear, you're never going to drive anywhere.

Getting a horn sound into Trainz is fairly simple once you know basic computer operations - you just clone one of the default horns, open for edit in explorer, change the username in the config.txt and replace the existing WAV files with your new ones. But first you have to learn the basics of file management in explorer, how to copy and paste from one explorer window to another, and if you have VISTA or Windows 7 you need to learn to configure that so the UAC doesn't stop you from modifying files and folders.
