This is Convenient...(UK Train Line)

This is suposed to be a train sim (TRAINZ) forum, if you start bringing political #2, or idiot scientist government funded data #3 into it ....................

. then it will turn into a farce.

Uh...I was just impressed with the size of the line, I didn't know it had scientists or politicians standing in it...

@ blackwatch

“Ecky thump”, blackwatch – talk about being confused!

Where’s the polititics prior to post #4? There’s nowt there that I can see – and certainly none intended!

I wondered that, but then I saw that CascadeRailroad had edited his post, so I suspect that Blackwatch was replying to that, and then retracted it. It's all got a bit out of context...

<sacasm>Obviously if it snows in the UK, it can't possibly be the warmest year on record globally</sarcasm>

Scientists meant to say: Global Cooling ... not Global Warming ... we had it all backwards ... OOOooP's

:hehe::hehe:........... Living in the UK it definatly feels like it -13 christmas eve.

Just to add a little science to the procedings as the world warms and the ice caps melt more fresh water gets into the oceaniac currents slowing them down. The reason the UK has such mild wether for somwhere that as far north as Edmonton, Canada, is because of the atlantic convayer current that brings warmer currents from the Carribean and Africa. It's been suggested that if the Atlantic Convayer current recieves too much fresh water and stops the UK will have Siberian wether. We'd have to get used to the snow then.

:)

Oh dear now we are into the global warming theory when we were on about the Channel Tunnel. Quite a jump and maybe aded concern for BLACKWATCH? (!). I feel for the poor souls that were desperate for the trains and couldn't get on which bother me more than some idea we are all going to burn. The only burning will be the money in our pocket as all this carbon stuff is a money making and tax racket.

I don't think that is quite right, as Britain is still "west coast." Vancouver and Seattle are pretty far north and have no Gulf Stream and are still mild.

...except that Vancouver is south of anywhere in the UK mainland. Didn't Vancouver just have the Winter Olympics? There's no-where in the UK, even in the Scottish mountains where the snow is reliable enough for that...

Back on topic - it always seems that the UK gets caught out by snow because most of it doesn't usually get much. I recall many winters in the Midlands when it only snowed once or twice and didn't stick at all... This current weather really is unusual...

The met office (fully signed up members of the great global warming conspiracy, in fact run by one of the chief proponents of AGW) said that the cold winters of 2008 and 2009 were 'one off events' and therefore the chance of a harsh winter this year was only 20-1 because the world is warming:o, local authorities and businesses who believed their propaganda made plans appropriately. Hence the mess.

Well "guys", having studied meteorology (many years ago), have more recently studied Trainz, and live in Canada ....... I must say that everything in this thread is connected.

In meteorology, one takes the current conditions and adds a splash of historical data, predicts the future.... and then reaches for a beer.

In Trainz, one takes the current conditions, reviews the historical data, reaches for a beer, and then predicts the future.

In Canadian politics, one reaches for the beer first. Therefore the only difference between three is the exact time when you reach for the beer.

What a revelation!

Happy New Year. Colin.
