Actually, it is a reference to a Simpson's episode. Lisa has a pen pal in some South American country, and the letter she gets back begins with talking about how it is horrible because there was a revolution, then it changes to an edited version that is glorifying the new president, and is signed "sincerely, little girl."

BTW, I am not a girl, in case that ending confused anyone, lol.

I think they all gone and there is nobody really watching the fourms any more.

I stared a thread just bagging the company that 12 months ago would have benn closed but it now on its 3rd page with no action. I do not think anybody is driving this train at all at present.

I have to agree. Seems that after the 09/10 fiasco they seem to have slapped it all together like a last gasp thing. Just get the feeling they've taken Trainz as far as it can go in it's present form and are backing out (from a business stand point). With all that needs to be done and fixed probably makes it a loosing proposition from the investor's point of view.

My point was if you people would get together and contact these people and let them know there is a problem that needs fixed, I would imagine the thing would get fixed. But if you just pick at each other, nothing will get done.

The maker of the game is well aware of the issues with the game. They have heard about it constantly, for some time now. The ball is already in their court. The DLS has been a point of contention for years now, the FCT issue has been explored (on our side) for at least as long, and the unreliability of their website is common knowledge.

The sniping and infighting you are witnessing is a result of 1) the recent release of 2010 2) boredom at nothing new happening RIGHT NOW 3) sociable people trying to interact with each other, but finding they are running out of valid topics.

It's just like real life, and everyone's opinion is appreciated!

There is alot of truth there.
We really have little to talk about, there hasn't been anything impressive out from Auran in a while, yes I know they just released 2010, like I said...
The last real interesting thing I read here was the thread stating Grogstop65 opened Trainz Eastern Routes, and it was only entertaining because I choose it over "As the World Turns".
Comically, the thread was closed within 48 hours of posting.

Then the real entertainment was, as we talked about, the signature size thread, I then choose it over C-SPAN2, I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to listen to an air headed politician talk or participate in that bogus thread, it was only tough because they are practically the same thing, complain, complain.

I choose this because I couldn't find anything else to do!:hehe:

I guess there is some entertainment here, but it starts in vain.
I would like to see something worth reading, but honestly,
it's getting old fast.

Actually, I'm not complaining. I just can't understand the connection with Auran and this forum. When you go to Auran's website and have problems, where does the link take you? Does it take you to Auran? No, it takes you to this forum. And for all intents & purposes, by lookiing at the header and banners, this appears to be Auran's place of operations, that is to the new person that happens upon it. Auran sends you here. I'm told in my purchase, that I have First Class Tickets to Download, it works about 20% of the time and then it is Just not There. So, Auran is shrugging their responsibility by sending the new purchaser here for help with their product. If you start a ticket, they might answer you and help, but....they might not, which is my case. So just like the Rail Simulator I purchased made by Railworks and distributed by EA, I like many others am left holding the bag with Trainz Simulator because Auran has decided to shirk their responsibilty just like EA has. Next time one of you guys that think I'm complaining purchases something at Walmart or wherever, when it doesn't work, keep it and swallow the sour pill, because you don't want to be a complainer.

With TRS2006, the DLS works great, ALL the time, without a FCT...Trainz runs great, ALL the time...Auran has provided me with one fantastic simulator.

Is something broke or not working ? ? ?

RiverRun, its not what you posted its the way you posted it, you start out by having a go at the members of the forum, then you vent at Auran (well deserved and understandable) then again have a go at the members, and you wonder why we have a go back ??

You will find that you will be talked to as you talk to, in other words you came on strong and met resistance, try being polite (to other forum users) and you will find most of us will reply in kind, come on strong and yeah well :wave:

What i don't understand is that his tech guy found issues with the download helper. How come then that others are downloading with no problems what soever, not only over here in the UK but also in the States. Looks like he just needed some where to vent his frustration's and the forums was the first place that came to mind.

This is exactly the situation I have. I have never had a significant problem with the game that could not be solved with a little reading. sure download rates are slow, but i use that time to work on route plans and prepare for when i can get back to the game. I just hope we can learn to live with the drawbacks.

as for sigs, ive got nothing left... everything I can use is a "bandwith" killer (if there is such thing). I think im just about done trying to be creative here, with all the complaints. I understand that the rules are there to be followed, but there is too much negative cannotations in what people are saying to eachother regarding the topic.

As a sidenote: I edited -fullscreen and changed it to -windowed in my trainzoptions file and now I can run Trainz in surveyor and driver...while surfing the web all at the same time. I can be looking at topo maps, and Google Earth...and at the same time be running Trainz. Chatting on Yahoo IM...and laying tracks.

My PC screen resolution is set at 1280 x 1024, on a 20" monitor

And my Trainz Display resolution is set at 1280x 960

I can move the trainz screen around on my PC monitor, and slide it out of the way when surfing the web.

As to TRS2006, the DLS works perfectly...and any problems using the CMP is usually on the end users PC. Once I cleared my settings up, it has been working perfectly for 2 years, with no down time at all.

I agree with this on all counts, with my own experience to back it up.

Actually, the forum is filled with threads about how the DLS isn't working. It is happening all of the time. People can't download, the server is full, the uploading section isn't working, stuff like that. I am constantly having issues when I try to upload to the DLS, which is why I have moved to USLW for all of my content hosting needs. Downloading, I don't normally have an issue with. (Except when I see a piece of content that I want, but for some reason it isn't available according to the DLS [no download link]

Well, if you have been paying attention here, creativity is against the COC here for some reason. We have lost countless "trains artwork" threads on this forum because they got "off topic" for a post or two. But the argument is, how many times have the other big threads gone off topic, such as USA pics? Quite often. And the second question is, who was being hurt by the artwork threads discussing art techniques, or what medium people used. Oh yeah, that's right, it was showing people that there is more to someone's life than Trainz. Yes, I know that this is a Trainz forum, but if you look at most other forums, they have topics that don't pertain to the forum's subject at hand. Normally they are kept in an "off topic" section. Oh yeah, I forgot, there is no off topic section here. My bad. I forgot that this is still 1998 land, and the forum makes a buzzing and whining whistly noise when it starts up. (not to mention a grinding noise every time someone has a signature that is 26kb over).
