Thinking about upgrading...

John, I get it. I need a higher end PC. That's why I knew it would be better to build a Gaming rig then buy a low budget one. Besides, I don't think I'll get T:ANE, and just hold off quite a bit longer seeing how people are reacting to it now. Besides, TS12 works flawlessly for the 2nd time since the High end HP laptop, and all my other things like the DS Emulator actually run at full framerate compared to barley any on my Main Windows 7 PC.

Yup, that's what I'm trying to say. :)

I got burned many years ago doing this, not for games but for a high-end graphics and desktop publishing. In the end I ended up scrapping, well giving the machine to my sister to use for Internet and card games, and built a new one myself. I was doing a bit of 3d modeling and the machine I got was an old Acer Acros P100. This was back in 1996 when Pentium Is at 100Mhz were the fastest machines on the block. The machine was so dreadfully underpowered, no matter what I did, it would take 45 minutes to render a simple still image needed for an advertising project.

T:ANE is coming along. You'd be pleasantly surprised once you get the computer tweaked and the assets fixed. I think after the next big patches come out, it will be a decent product. If you want to hold off until then, that's okay.

Can I repeat something?
Certainly worth repeating. A classic case of people believing the marketing sales hype, then claiming they have a near top end computer so the software must be defective, etc. when it doesn't perform.

What they do have is a small price, which is a big criteria for many people. Unfortunately their gaming performance is on par with their price - small. It's cold comfort to know that serious games require some serious hardware and that doesn't come cheap.

Well, me and a friend had done a "What If" scenario the other day, and the gaming PC of my dreams would cost like $1200 dollars.

I might suggest something ...

A lower end Windows laptop, or a lower end desktop Windows PC, may run TRS2006 just fine ... and use 06 to create routes in.

Then have a higher end ASUS ROG laptop, or a Gaming desktop to run 09, 10, 12, T:ANE on.

Then when you have an 06 route done ... import it into 09, 10 12, for running on your higher end Windows desktop, or laptop, PC.

If you cut grass, or shovel schnow, you can save up for a super gaming Windows 64 bit gaming desktop ... and import those original 06 routes into 09, 10, 12 routes, and import them into T:ANE

Some custom building shops will ship a ready to run Gaming desktop to you for much less than $1800

Most households have a "beater" old PC ... and another gaming PC

Trainz 06 is outdated and old cascadrailroad. It may be the perfect trainz for you, but not for those who have good PC's to run Trainz 09, 10, 12.

Which you apparently do not even own one ... lol

I can run my outdated and old 06 route on my old "beater" laptop right now ...and I can import the outdated and old 06 route into 10, 12 tonight on my higher end PC ... and turn around and import my 10, 12 route, into T:ANE tomorrow ... can you ?
