I think a reduction of SpeedTrees by 80% is a wonderful idea, and the texture is great. It does look suitable for streams, creeks, and wetlands as you say.

Some Trainz Shots...

I was able to redo every stream from Marquette to Bargra today and have them all to about 60% complete....200 miles of stream and river I guess....

Get these damm streans done....

Really they have to go first then you can put a bridge over them, but not until.

Painting Rivers...with the proper paint is better then splines. Because I swear to Christ there is not 2 level places on this entire DEM.

It would have been easier to do a farm.....

But how in the heck to you put a farm down a hill....and the next one is even more of a bitch....

It's a stream and requires special solutions....

Here's the real bitch.......

Go put a farm up there.....I'm ready for both of these I'll paint them in.

And for those of you that think the water color is off....This is Michigan home of 1/2 of the United States Fresh Water, and 10% of the Worlds... and that far North most of the water is flowing over stone or rock. So it's clear as glass and the color of the Blue Sky.

I was surprised.....

Taking out 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 million Hemlocks...didn't materially effect the FPS...maybe 30% increase....but I was still at 25-45 FPS. But switching between Loco's...is Instant now, whereas before there was a lag as 80,000 speed tress were read into view.

And it comes down to this you are not running this route without high-end equipment....Period.

I've running a Nvidia 560Ti right now, and as soon as the price drops...most likely after Christmas....or School lets out...I"m putting in a Nvidia 590.

But in the meantime I'm buying myself an SSD for Christmas...for the Windows Cashe.

WCL's Ore Hopper last seen 1:20 minutes ago...

east of Negaunee...are now just east of Herman, MI.

They set out 2 1/2 hours ago just east of Marquette about 5 or so miles...

Here comes WCL hoppers into L'Anse....20 minutes later.

I might note that they are being pulled by them new RRMods.com CN units.

Along with some JJR bridges I've updated but not yet replaced....

Disaster......

One of my test trains couldn't make it up the L'Anse Hill last night.

5 GP9's built by CNR were stalled about 1 mile north or Herman, MI last night. The train consisted of 84 ore Cars on a test run up the Hill...up from Marquette earlier in the day.

Traffic was backed up for 8 hours.

Finally the decission was made to lash up another train from the CNW that was backed up in the traffic to the stalled CN Train. Consisting of 7 CNW Units's from RRmods.com and pulling 104 loaded ore Cars of it's own.

Couldn't move it an inch....

Next a CN Train was brought up the hill. Consisting of 2 SD40-2's from RRmods.com and pulling 60 WCL empty ore Cars.

Couldn't move it an inch...

Finally and as a last resort....3 recently purchased GP15 CNW/UP units from RRmods.com were brought up to the rear of the stalled Train(s).

She growled and thundered like hell fire for what seemed like forever.....then in the pitch back.....those 17 Power Units in all managed to move that Train at first an inch, then a foot....then a yard. When that freight hit Herman it was moving along at a clear 4 miles an hour.

I've read about that L'Anse Hill....it has one of the steepest grades in the US, and the bitch that thing can be.

It'd be a good thing to put up some helper Units on this route. At least four of them somewhere arround L'Anse....or the Nestoria Yard.
