Let's not and say we did.

So how about an all out flat release of this route as it is
Been experimenting with SLI video cards, to the point my machines are #1 on the USA Team, 50th in the world based on daily scores. And I'm only running 7, the leaders are running 90, or hunderds. Only took $1500.00 in electricity to run these flat out for 5 months to get there.Needless to say...It's now stoked, tweeked...ready to go.

Infact I now have two I7's on my home network running at peak performance.

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_members.php?teamid=113336&offset=0&sort_by=expavg_creditBut now that that is done, back to Trainz in the fall with a couple Nvidia 670's in the ole Box as an upgrade to the 2 560TIs I got now...price will be down. But I know by doing so will up my GPU performance by another 40%. I took off the Max FPS setting on this game and I get nearly 560 FPS now. Needless to say...no stutter or flicker pause caused by the CPU or GPU.

I'd be interested to know if anybody has experimented with Trainz on a Solid State Drive? Got one in the other I7 with windows on it for my HTPC, can you say blink, blink....running windows on an SSD vs. the hard drive is; like a chain saw vs. a stone axe.

As far as Trainz goes....

Picked up the Jointed Rails CNW payware & the RRmods.com freeware CNW's. Cool! Thanks guys, but I got a request for some LS&I In gins. Maybee the Jointed Rail Make your owns on the shortline service...green LS&I, blue E&LS.

Yea any performance issues are not due to a graphic card at my level, or anybody with a GTX 450 Nvidia. This program doesn't even push an Nvidia 560TI graphics card. Believe me when I say if you want to really push a graphic card to it's limit you can not run it stock. By that I mean only run one application like trainz on it, and expect to push the Graphics Card.

If you want to push a GPU, you run 2 or three tasks on it at once, to the point you need to download Nvidia's performance tools to up the fan rate to keep the GPU from overheating, actually to keep it from killing itself under the heat produced from processing. You can turn you computer into a spaceheater if you really run it flat out. It's a little chilly tonight, been over a 100 recently, but we had a thunderstorm come through today and it's nicely cooled things down...and the air conditioning is on so it feels chilly in the house. However my I7 is running all 8 processors, and the Graphics cards are running 6 split tasks core 1 on the I7 is putting off 100 degrees, core 2 is putting off 120 degrees, core 3 is putting off 116 degrees, core 4 is putting off 116 degrees, the GPU card one is putting off 147 degrees and the GPU card two is putting off 167 degrees. All these tempertures are well below manufactures maximums for Intel or Nvidia. Well below. And Trainz runs as it always did, even with this much activity happening in the background.

I have a Liquid Corsair Cooler on the CPU, and the fans on the GPU running at 70%, manually controlled...this Box has 6 fans in it just to move air in and out. It's a SPACE HEATER!

I have software on all my machines called TThrottle. TThrottle will monitor all CPU core tempertures, all GPU core tempertures....and will decrease the percentage of processor capacity from 100% to whatever % is needed to keep my machines from starting on fire from heat or exceed manufactures tempertures for the CPU & GPU units.

This was a good thing for me to get back into for 5 months, Seti@home. I found that one of my motherboards was defective, and replaced it, and I knocked off more points in actually 4 months then most will ever do, 10 million. It took me 9 years to get 3 thousand, and I took 3 years off..but I came back to it to discover what was going on with Trainz. Why wouldn't it use any more ever then 13% of my machine?

No this game Trainz does not "work" a CPU, never would it run over one processor out of 8 on my machine, to a max of 13% overall. Hardly a space heater. Nor would it use my SLI'd GPU cards, they'd breeze this bitch. What it is, I think. Is that fact that my NV3 folder is 70.4 Gigabites, has 347, 020 files, in 28,125 folders. I have 16 Gigabites of memory on my machine, one would think that would be enough for everything else it is...for now 2012. So any delays, frame stutters, draw distance, model details, has to be comming from the weakest link in the chain, the harddrive. It's the only mechical link in the chain. Has to be, everything else it solid state...speed of light electricty. It's the harddrive... IE my 12 processors in this box will munch up anything thrown at it to the point they will over heat and fail....unless, as I said; I tweeked the fan speeds, and installed a program to monitor the machine from failure due to heat. That does not happen with this game, as i suppose because the mechanical hard drive cannot keep up with CPU & GPU capacity in my case.

If you don't believe me, go test your machine out on Seti@home, spend $1500.00, max it out, max them all out. Go to the #1 position in your country. And run this game. Or just get yourself a $120 Solid State Drive [SSD] and put Trainz on it. That's where I'm going...I'll keep you posted.

Oh yea, put this on you to do list.

Check out the new content, or the content from author Samplaire. For any early age Trainz time, or in my case the UP of Michigan, his content ROCKS!

Yep an SSD makes a huge difference. I got a 240g Intel one...that rocks...but Trainz 2012 is still not using all potential a high end PC could offer. Thanks for sharing your experience !

Well it sure is nice to see him back though.....Thats always nice to see good route builders come back and finish what the started.....

What's the hurry

Hmmmmmmmmm.......What winter were you thinking???? :hehe:

I just re-did Maddy25's super Bendy Bridges the other day, and I already have an update to both of them. I had to remove the code for endcaps. But now they are ready to roll. Up load them in the next few minutes. What is everybody doing now for photos? I logged on to image sack to upload a photo and it want's money..

Please help.. As for that WCL...nobody want's it anyway...so for now I'll just keep it.

Oh I see Just Pay Money....that's O.K. really. Everybody has to make a living.

So anyway I redid Maddy25 Bendy Bridge. But based on the textures, which I like, and the total inability to reskin and clean up any of the JJS bridges. (ie some of the surfaces won't paint). I'm making the ones I need, so I can skin them how I want. Here's an example of a Plate Deck in progress based on Maddys25 textures and a representation of the Old unskinnable JJS Plate deck.

This is what I'm talking about on the Old JJS bridges..

It might not be noticed...if you are not looking at the scene in 1080p, It's just a curse....because it sticks out like a sore thumb. And I can't wait to replace all these bridges with my own.

It's a virgo thing.

Taking Maddy25 Textures, and my Model

Basing off the old JJS bridge, it cleans up really nice...and will be easy to reskin...easy. With some like Graffiti

It's getting there, this is about 4 hours work. Needs priers, webbing and supports. Using SAM bridge track for now.

Here is another interesting Item I need for this lay out that I will have to make.

A super bendy Trestle. I'm learing. This is my Trestle with a Russian Track attached to it. I know how to do a bendy Trestle...like Maddy25's. It will just take time, but I think you can get the Idea of where I want to go with this. It's a shame that the Russian Track is wider then the US standard. But the Model Track is short enough to bend...just a few meters, where all other track is 10's of meters.

That would be my problem.

The difference between somebody that works for somebody....is they do what they are told to do and get paid. Somebody that works for himself, or herself like I have for 40 years. You look at what needs to be done, figure out on your own how to do it. And in many of instances, you hire somebody who don't have a clue, and tell them what to do.

And you actually make more money...just thinking of how the ants need help, and get an ant to do it.

That will never happen

So how about just a release on what you got done????

I can create content. Unique content, creates value. I'm not done yet, and not all my content will be released until the route is.

That's another thing about somebody that works for somebody else, they do what they are told to do.

Somebody that works for him or herself does what they want to do.

Here's an example WCL of doing.

I'm gong to take this chunk of ore dock, and make a 4 track tressle out of it, take the base and make an ore loader out of it.

I uploaded that 2 track plate deck, it's highly skinnable, and I encourage it. But a note of caution there will be an update adding supports and piers. But you can use any ole one if you want to use it now. I just like having this content on the DLS as I work on it..ie I've already deleted the file 2 times by accident. I've taken and re-uploaded the Plate Girder Bendy Bridges, and my Trestle. Renamed them all to start as YR Bridge in the user name.
