Since I just put in an udate on all the "basic" color Bridges Yesterday.

I'm not going to put up the center beam enhancement today on those, Instead I'll Upload the "light" Version that I have elected to use on the CNW Track in the route. There will be a 1 & 2 Track up in the next batch...enjoy. I'll do the basic before the end of the week.Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Trestle Bendy, ie Trestle Track...like Maddy25's plate girder bendy...used in a river crossing. I notices the other day when I went fishing...they use as little steel as possible. This use to be a 3 span, but for the bottom line...2 spans are removed...Trestle track picked up the ends as it's much cheaper, and the water traffic can still pass....like it really is.

I need to work on those abutments..if that's how it's spelled.

I have tried really hard to get my wood surfaces in line.

ie...they age, or gray in the same fashion. You can see how far off I am and where I need to go. It's just a thing about me....its got to right enough, to look real.

I got a ways to go....but, I get it. And for damm sure after looking at that "matched up" metal thing on my bridge track, has to be replaced. UGH@

I said a year or so ago, I just wasn't happy with the level of detail in some of the trainz content. And Pissed a bunch of people off in doing so. You were right to be pissed, just like I was right to pitch a bitch.

But instead of leaving it there, I'm learning to do it my way, what I like. And maybe that's what my point was back then, and I just said it the wrong way. I was frustrated I couldn't make the content I wanted. Now I can, and you're all welcome to it. I just warn you if you like it clone it, I'll probably change it.

I have just uploaded YR Treste Bridge Bendy...it's not done..it's alpha. But I'd like some feedback, or I'll just keep it for myself. Remember it's alpha, the width will not change, the color may/will, the track will be updated to get rid of that black bar. All the rest of the sway braces will be put in for higher spans. I hope you can use this.

Today it's a Pratt Truss Replacement.

A little beefier for the extra weight. Also, if you look close I modified the bridge track outer metal that was bugging me.

I better take your suggestion and clone the bridges I have already downloaded just in case. So far I've liked all the changes you have made and have been following your adventures with these bridges and trestles. Thank you.

Cloning is a good idea.

I just uploaded the 2 Track Plate Girder, and the 4th release of the 2 Track Deck Girder. The Pratt Truss won't be far behind. One of the reasons for going uniform sized steel on the Pratt was, naturally because of the weight of an ore car, and as an opportunity for me to skin it up in wood...to go with Bendy Trestle as a cross-over. Look for those two to come out together.

Old & Older side by side.

Making the impossible, possible. I know in big cities track run every way from sunday...including elevated. Here it is...decks and plate up in the air, switching here and there.

Just sent in another update on the track fixing that black thing on the ties which will effect all bridges except the 1 Track Plate Deck Dark, and I threw in some tie plates. Let me know if that kills a slower computer.

wawasoo--- thanks for the invite to join you over here. Today is actually the first time I've looked in this thread. Awesome work you have going on here! So, built to fit your YR Plate Girder bridges, Bridge paint!

It is one sided, although as I type this, I just realized how to mod it to work on both sides........ Update coming up! Anyhow, uploaded to the DLS and awaiting approval. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread now.

I changed the plate sizes on the Plate Girder Bridges tonight, go ahead and clone my old asset you are working with, call it you own and put it on the download station with my blessing, just give me some credit, so your work does not go to waste on this signage. But I really would like to work with you on this sinage issue on my bridges after that.

Since I am not a model builder (yet!), I had to tweak their position using orientation and position commands, so it won't be hard to update them to fit the new ones- I just need to adjust the numbers. I look forward to working with you too. This one is a 4mx4m plane, but I can make bigger ones for longer stuff (logos or graffiti). This one will be perfect for names though.

So I guess that is the question.

I'm putting out bridges right now, this guy is making trackside assets that snap onto my bridges...like a switch lever, or a signal...that you can move a logo of your road on the bridge where you want it, like right over the highway.

Is anybody interested, and would you download it?

I will, I want CNW, I want CN, I want LS&I, I was E&LS, I want Soo, I want WC, and I want Graffiti on my bridges...do you?

You have to speak up, or we are all gonna quit.

I've actually started a set of letters. Of course, it will take a longer bridge to put "Norfolk and Western Railway" on the side of, but rather than getting burdened down in a bunch or road names, I'll do the individual letters. Besides, with the way a spline stretches to some degree, what logo fits on one bridge won't look right on another with the bracing of the girders poking through. This way, each letter can be in its own pocket on the bridge.

Here's a very rough example- I only made 2 letters, I'm not happy with the font, and haven't weathered them out or anything yet. This is more just to get an idea of how it will look and to get some ideas about it:

Anyhow, I've got a little tweaking to do with it. And I made the original one two sided now, so you can put a logo on each side of the bridge. Can't do it with the letters though, because one side of the bridge will say CONRAIL while the other will say LIARNOC. That's no fun.

It's ok to go to version 5 with stuff...lord knows doing this is a learning curve for us all. Especially for people who don't know what they are doing like me. It's trial and error....aka "the school of hard knocks, head over heals over the public system."

Speaking of which, and quoting the current President. You didn't build it.

Today I Wet Sawed up a 8ft wide by 20ft long 1ft thick old cement patio full of rebar and wire which was supporting a cantalievered portch, (if that's how you speel that, whatever I went to public school)
into 4,000lbs chunks or so. And since I couldn't get my skidsteer under the portch to pick them up, (I knew that going in, and bid it that way, cause I own a tape measure too.) I had to pick them up with the tips of my forks, run a chain underneath the 4000lbs chunks or so. Attach the chain to the skidsteer and pull them out, unchain them, fork'm and throw them in my dump trailer 2 at a time.....I coulda used the governments help on putting the arms under the 4000lbs chunk part. And I know if they are 4000lbs or not, cuase if they are heavier..i have to saw them again, cause that's all that machine can pick up. And you get pretty good at guess the weight thing over time. Coulda used the governments help there...woulda saved a lot of $200 saw blades.

Next week I'm gonna put in 10 tons of pavers, and 5 six inch thick sawed boulder steps ranging from 4' wide to 8'....and cut them SOB pavers in an inverted symetrical curve out to the steps from the lake house....BY MYSELF. It's O.K. if you don't understand that, it's cause I went to public school.

Needless to say I'll be 56 in 2 weeks or so, and weigh 40lbs more then I did when I retired 12 years ago, and it's all muscle. My Dad sits on his portch up at the Lake and reads the Paper.....you could quiz him on it. This is my Idea for relaxing, I like to work. Now...I'm gonna play with Trainz..and work on my Pratt Truss.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't always do this alone..when I stopped going to work everyday...that's when I bought out everybody that owned stock in the company but me that I worked at; my Mom, Dad and Brother. The Internut boom was good for something...I own a 3rd generation private family company that my Grandpa started in 1941, Seventy-one years old business, 100% outright and retired everybody in my family trading Internut stocks on my PC in the basement Thanksgiving Day 1999, (you're all done). Then I got into being a mentor and a model for my 10 year old Son, only Son, couldn't screw up and only had one try...we bought big boy toys that could pick up 6,000 pounds, a pickup, and dirve it down the road at 20MPH on the forks, down to chainsaws, showing him how to work, and get ShXt done.... and he worked with me till he graduated high school..and hit 19 and started working in Nuclear Power Plants.........which they teach at every grade school. NOT!

I taught him how to work, and as we worked...doors opened up, with the people we worked for. People on a budget don't hire us. People with money and power do. He had a Wonderfull 10 year old to 19 Resume that would open doors when I was done with him, and that's what Dads should do.... so them years in the public educational system for him was just a social network, led by people that went to school and then taught it, but have never ever really DONE anything, (doughnuts). I don't think he can speel either. But He'll be in Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Pennsylvania as a jobber so far this winter during outages...still working his way up. And my mother-in-law lives in my downstairs cause of finances.

Yea, Big Government. I bet you a hunderd dollar bill, a Union Carpenter can't plug in an extension cord in a wall outlet to saw a board with his saw, unless a Union Electrician plugs it in for him, that's the way it is in Chicago..and I rest my case. That's why they say things like that...they are doughnuts.

My Daughter is in Puerto Rico, freaking out over a Hurrican...all the ladies are at the Casino...I don't know if my Wife and her Mom makes it back, it's a girls thing birthday party for a good friend that is hitting the big 50. My Son just walked in the house....I'm gonna give him a WHATSUP! Then get to my Bridge.
