The General, a US Civil war locomotive

Uh, my Trainz CDs are beat. I'm not sure they'll survive another DL. Ahhh! I guess I'll just hace to install a lot of turntables on my route. Plus, 638 MB will slow my computer. I guess I'll just make up excuses why my locomotive has the coupler up.

SP 1 fixed some missing messages that the various scripted couplers rely on. You'll need to install the service pack to fix your problem.

Thanks. Well, since I lost Trainz for a month last time since it wouldn't reinstall, I'll stick with my version. Thanks for answering my question though. I'm off to download a flat car that I can permantley leave on the front of the engine if it goes up.

I believe that is where the problem is. Try installing SP1.

Now I must go give the new version of the General a test run.

Cheers,
Ben
There definitely was a problem with TRS2006 as it broke the uncouple message that was supposed to be sent out. SP1 fixed this. I'll have to down load and test the General out. When I merged Pencil42's coupler script into the loco script I sent Terry I didn't have a version of the loco with the front coupler animation so I couldn't test it out. I told Terry to do a thorough job of testing it. 8-)

The script definitely uses the uncouple message but it's also possible to poll the consist frequently to see if the coupler status has to change. I thought there was a section in there that did that. I've got SP1 installed but I can disable the uncouple messages in the script when I test it out.

Hello Bob, Yes I did test it out thouroughly. I never had a problem with it before or after you modified the script.

My testing was limited to copuling and uncoupling cars, I never tried to derail one or anything like that.

Let's just say that my testing was limited to "normal" operations and it worked fine.

Well? Did you like it? Did I do good?

Did I get pretty close to what would be considered "Russian Iron" on the boiler? I can darken it up for the next one if necessary.

Just wanted your opinion.

Apparently, the thing won't upload. This isn't the first time I've tried to make a video of your locomotive, tbryson2.

The first video got as far as the YouTube upload page. Never finished.

The second video (this one) didn't even make it past the compressing stage.

I'm beginning to think your General does not like being put on film.:o:hehe:

Well, Betsy666 and Thoranikan have vids of the old general.

I'll look at the "config.txt" file and see if there is a parameter that prevents videoing. :p
