The General, a US Civil war locomotive

I normally don't run trains in Cab mode, but dude, I had so much fun running the General around the Highland Valley a couple of times!:D

Also, nice "Treat" with the whistle. Did you get the clip from the William Mason?

Can we expect a video Aaron

I took the General out for a spin, but I couldn't get the front coupler down after I did some shunting. How do you get it to go down

Simply by uncoupling the car from the front of the engine it should go down. Never had an issue with it here. Let me know if you resolve or don't resolve it.

Honestly I don't remember where I got the whistle. I did a search on line for "steam whistle" and it led me to several that I tested. I liked the sound of this one, so I edited it and kept it. Glad you like it. I'm sure it is NOT the William Mason.

You must have looked in more places than I did

I uncoupled it and even waited 5 minutes. It stayed up. No faults missing dependencies

Interesting. I tried it many times, in DCC and Cab mode and I cannot get it to fail. As soon as I uncouple the car in front it drops immediatly.

Anyone else out there with this issue?

Terry

Didn't work

Ok, not really sure what to ask, is it the same car or asset your connecting to?

Are you in DCC or Cab mode, (Don't think that really matters here).

Are you using Ctrl D or the decoupler button on the r.h. side of screen, (again, I don't think it matters).

What version are you running? 04 or 06?

Kind of holding out to see if anyone else has this issue.

Terry

Also, if it is '06, is it unpatched or is SP1 installed? As I recall, the original release versions didn't send uncoupling messages to scripts, which would break things like the coupler bar. It might have been fixed in SP1.

Cheers,
Ben

Well Hello Ben! Good to hear from you.

Thank you for mentioning the patch. I wouldn't have known about that.

I coupled to two different cars and it didn't work.

Tried both DCC and cab

06 without patch

Will try Ctrl D

I think Ben has a valid point. Let's not spend time troubleshooting a script until you install SP1 and verify if it works or not. ;)

Thanks

Terry
