The Forums Lately...

From 2.9 to 3.7 is wrong...N3V never gave us creators the heads up to at least, debate, discuss, and ask about our feelings, because after all, the DLS is built on our creations!

Ish

@Ish6: I don't like it either, but unless N3V changes their minds, we'll actually have to live with it.

@Klambert: You have brought up some very good points here. I agree with you very much so.

@NorfolkSouthern37: Whatever.

Best Regards,

....Although I do think that obseleting the unpatched version of TS12 was rather draconian....
You don't say?

...so I think it's a case of like it or lump it really.
Well I'm alright Jack!

This is the only post that seems to make any sense in this heated debate. Thank you for standing out in a crowd of nonsense.
Well, if you think that 'sense' involves obsoleting builds of the current version of game because they don't have DRM carry on. Oh, and many thanks for describing TS12 users who won't 'upgrade' to SP1 as 'a crowd of nonsense'. I'll wear that as a badge of pride. Still, don't let me hold you back from returning to your DRM-ed world of 'sense'.

For an independent games company, I do think that N3V do rather well considering the size of the community and the huge variety of objects available on the DLS. In fact 'the other sim' impose far more draconian measures on their third party contributors then what N3V does.

We don't have to choose between bad and worse. For all but a few, nobody is paying most of us to create content for this sim and, therefore, we have no obligation to do so, and most of us have no legal or moral obligation to continue creating even if we were selling payware. We can elect to upload our content to third-party sites (a lot if not most of the better stuff is already hosted on them anyway) or keep our creations to ourselves. Just because the "other sim" may be worse doesn't mean we have to accept being jerked around.

P.S. Free or paid, the SP1 patch doesn't change the fact that N3V skipped two whole builds, against the Lifecycle Policy. What's next?

I was not attempting to describe anyone who will not upgrade to TS12 SP1, it is the outrage over the minimum build allowed on DLS content that is nonsense. I understand that it may have happened too quickly for some but it does not warrant some of what has been displayed. I think klambert put it the best way it can be put. I sympathize with those who are upset but I doubt that changes will be made. As RRSignal points out, there are other alternatives.

I think everyone should be glad that 2012 is fully supported once more. At least we done have half a simulator not supported, and the other half is. It's like Danny Phantom. Danny can't do much without his Ghost side for Ghost Fighting.
