Near Donald, BC

Hello all,

I've finished the track from Midway, BC to Donald, BC. Only a couple of short bits left to do. So I took some shots near Donald. Donald was a CPR Divisional point in the 1890s until the CPR moved it to Revelstoke. Donald is, now, an official BC Ghost Town.
Today's tour starts with a pic at the Donald cemetary.

Just past is the ghost town:

Past the town is a sawmill:

That's all for today.
cheers,
--Michael.
PS The graveyard, sawmill and buildings are actual, the town is fictitious.

Looks good rick

The crossings are easy to set up its the lineing up the roads to them thats the hard part it looks horrible stell trying to aline them up this crossing is a strange pice of work
prolbem is the car stoppers ate too low they need to be rased about 0.25 or 0.50 but it I rase them 1.00 there too high.

Here a pic I took of this crossing and how it looks.

Hi all,
Rick: Nice shots. Especially the rocks. It's a shame Trainz's rivers can't be sloped and if two different heights touch and you "E" one, the other leaps to meet. Once, on a layout I was building, a way away upstream - elevation 300m - I adjusted the height of one river step and boom my sea level city was under 300m of water. So like everyone else I hide the river water level transitions under rocks, rapids, logs etc. One must remember that down-under-land - home of N3V - is only 26 metres above sea level. Hence the ignorance of rivers, mountains, canyons and etc.  :p

dragonharh: Roads and xing are - YES - a pain in down-under. I took some quick screenies to share a technique:

First a shot of a "grade Xing US NG OH 2L 1T W CWSL". This works for any "Grade Xing ...". The roads are yarn/yarnish/Treadway.
Please notice the the crossing plate is mostly obscured by the road. IMO It looks crappy.

To fix this froobie's way
First replace the roads connected to the crossing with "Z Funky Road 3a",

Then delete the funky road and add the road of your choice.

I used "2 Lane Road USA 400 No-Passing" I prefer cwhitedog <kuid:93677:.....> roads and intersections. This is purely personal choice.
This time notice the crossing plate is visible. (Grade Xings have 25 different plate and road styles)
Finally:

I have replaced the "T intersection", configured the plate, and changed the roads connected to the T. I like the grass edged variant for rural roads as well as the Z Funky roads, of course.

Good luck,
cheers,
--Michael.
PS Oppps. The missing kuid for the Observation Car will be on DLS in a day or so....

Thanks Rick & Michael
I like thows crossing ideas and did some work on 2 more crossing as I was testing them with the DAR RDCs I hit one of these.... someone say 1000$ fine.
Driver slammed on the bracks as hard as they will so lucky he only scraped the paint on it.

Yea its almost all of Nova Scotia in one map.

Morning Folks; I thought I'd try my hand at a small waterfall. This is one of those areas where the river decides to go up the side of a hill. I don't think it's supposed to, but what the heck. The boulders are hiding about a one or so meter difference in the water level. I just got bored and leaped ahead a bit. What do ya think ... any tips?

Cheers .... Rick
Rick this is some good stuff you're are working on!

Cheers All .... Rick

Thanks rick. But I darn near ripped my ears off going through a door after reading your observation. It took a 25 minutes outside - it's 4 Deg. C. - to reduce the swelling.
If you stuck a brew to my head, I'd have to say: "A journeyman is an individual who has completed an apprenticeship and is fully educated in a trade or craft, but not yet a master. To become a master, a journeyman has to submit a master work piece to a guild for evaluation and be admitted to the guild as a master."
I am some time from being asked to join the Guild. But like you and the others we, and I, are still learning and having fun while on the journey.

keep up the good work all of you.
cheers,
--michael.
