That daunting task of cleaning up content...

Hello Malc,

I installed my trains versions in a separate Auran directory ( with subfolders TS2009,TS2010 and TS2012 ), not under program files. Whenever I take a backup, I completely take the trainz
version directory. It only takes some time;).

Best regards

Actually that was only for backing up my route, I also backup the user data folders and my content creating editing folders weekly using a file sync program to separate drive and also to another PC, once the initial backup is done it takes maybe 10 minutes to synchronise on the same PC, a bit longer using the Networked backup. Not used Program files or the System C drive for any important programs or data since win95. Backup PC has 8 hard drives on it and is dual boot, has all the installers for programs I have, plus disk images of System drives. for all 3 PC's, Laptop and Mac and all backups duplicated in case of drive failure.

Hi Kurt,

I'm glad I could help. :)

Here are the actual lines to remove.

anim "anim.kin"
animation-loop-speed 1

Once these are gone, the asset should work fine. Let's hope.

I'm glad you're having nice weather. We're socked in with rain the whole weekend.

John

Hello John,

I did some anim.kin cleaning today. Up to know all those changed assets kept on functioning. So this is realy great.

Perhaps you know the answer to my question? Is there some content creators guide for Trainz09/10/12 in pdf or other format?

- I have found this link http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php5/Content_Creator's_Guide but I wondered if there was a pdf-version?

Best regards

Hallo Malc,

Well, your Pc-using is very good organised, and this is necessary in case of a minor or major Trainz or other pc-problems.

You just gave me a solution, mentioning the file sync program. I will search if there is a good file sync program.

Kurt,

There was a guide published ages ago, but I think that was for TRS2006 or earlier. With the current versions, N3V went to the Wiki format which for me is difficult to follow because everything is scattered in different links. It would be nice if there was a concise document with different "secret" functions listed along with their syntax. That would make repairing as well as new content creation a lot easier for everyone.

Hello John,

I have found a content creator guide for Trainz classic. Perhaps on a rainy day I will copy/paste the WIKI 2009 contents into a doc or pdf version.

John,

I put the CCG for Trainz Classic on to the TrainzDev Wiki. It is the CCGTC pdf info (pictures and all) and includes the contents pages that can be used to search or go directly to pages of interest. Some of it has been updated to later version data. Plus I tried to add usable examples for config.txt's and scripts.

Peter,

This is great news.

Thank you!

Hello Peter,

Thank you for the information.

Perhaps a difficult question : How many percent of the CCGTC.pdf is still to be considered as starting guide?

Best regards
