I submitted a ticket on 23 May. The boilerplate promised a response in 2 days. It has now been 20 days and no response. Is that normal now? I loaded TANE from a disk, seemingly with no problems, at least that is what the system said. But after starting TANE I get a dark gray screen with a menu bar at top with a "Main Menu" button on left and a "?" on the right. Each sends me to another blank screen. It would be nice to see all the fancy parts of TANE rather than a dark gray screen

Hi Mac,

Check the helpdesk its self and see if your ticket has been responded to. The server has had difficulties sending out emails in the past, or sometimes your email host may see the message as spam and bin it.

20-days is definitely not acceptable, and surely someone from N3V, probably Zec Murphy, will see this and respond. I do know they have gone through a bit of a corporate reorg, so things might be a bit hairy, but that's no excuse either.

I'm not sure if I can help, but could you post your system specs, and stuff? Others here might have an answer as it might be something with your hardware, but I surely don't know without looking myself.

Thanks John I've been busy lately so was slow answering your response. I checked the help desk just now, ticket is still "open". N3V has not responded. When I was running Win XP I knew how to get system specs (I think it was open command prompt and type in "msconfig". On 8.1 that does nothing so maybe my memory is no good. If you could send me the commands I need I'd be happy to post "system soecs and stuff." Thanks again for your response, too bad N3V is not as helpful. As helpful? So far no help from them at all.

The staff is really overwhelmed, so I am glad you have posted back here.

You need to open a command prompt with admin right and type msconfig. While at your desktop, right click on your start menu and choose command prompt (admin).

Your computer will beep...Confirm you want to do that....

Type in msconfig and it will launch.
Choose the tab on the right for tools and look for system information.
Choose Launch and there it is and looks the same. :)

What problem are you having? Maybe we can help and save you and Zec the trouble?

John
