TADDaemon won't go away.

3Ds MAX will be my demise
G'day!

For some reason, everytime I start Trainz 2009 after turning the computer on when I want to use it, Trainz just hangs on a black screen with the FPS Indicator showing (0.1) After I close it, (by using the Trainz is not Responding Window) Trainz WILL close, but TADDaemon won't. So I shut the PC down after I finished using the computer, which at this time, has been at least 45 minutes after closing Trainz, and that TADDaemon process is still sitting there, using 100,492K of memory, if I close it, I'll get that silly Updating Database, which takes 3 hours to complete. Any ideas why Trainz is being annoying?

Cheers! :)

Jake.

I know this may sound odd, but, try installing the new Nvidia drivers that came out this month. I had the same problem and there was a conflict between NV drivers, THX drivers and TADd.
When using the January release NV drivers I had many crashes in Trainz, Windows always reported one of these three as the culprits, but since Windows installed the latest drivers I have had no problems at all and TADd now closes very quickly after the game shuts down.

I'd be inclined to just let the Demon run till it is finished, no mater how long it takes. If there is a data base issue then it won't be happy till it is resolved, and the only way to resolve it is to let it run...

Andy :)

I agree, Andy. I left my system running over night when I went to bed. I had an issue that caused Trainz to crash and TADD didn't shutdown, so the machine was left on. It finally finished sometime in the morning long before I woke up.

Try Forcing it to shut down via task manager then then lift click on it and create dump file after it dose that then lift click on it a gen and end process tree this force's it to stop and it wont restart Intel you restart trs its advised not to do this but thats the only other way

This is really the only last resort. You don't want to do this if the TADDaemon is running because it's doing some file housekeeping and will only cause problems later on when Trainz is started up again.

Agreed your right thats why i said its not avised meaning that its if it stops responding or get stuck the you must forse it. 95% of the time it will run its salfe throw in 30 to 2hrs.
