Are you really that shallow that you think RRMods, JR, Cloaked Ghost ... etc ... use their business profits to be able go right out and buy more K&L locomotives and lollies ... No they probably do big boy stuff with the money, like pay the phone, gas, water, bills, and rent

I use it for car repairs, computer upgrades, or furniture which otherwise I could not afford on my primary income :( , but I never rely on this income.....
Thank you Cascade Railroad for this good view of such a comment, but the individual did in fact purchase as I believe he was unaware of how to obtain it.........

I thought most do this as a hobby except for RRMods, JR, Cloaked Ghost, and etc. Sorry for being shallow but the way I see it most don't do this just for money they do it because they have a passion for trains or because they have the tolerance to some extent of dealing with an ever changing community and still want to create epic things. I consider the money paid is used to help them further create better content while offsetting costs and reinvest to give trainz users a better trains sim overall. Thus trainz can still be kept as a relevant train sim and give the end user more leeway on what they can do in the base game. So I thank the all the third party content makers whether payware of freeware for keeping their passions alive to keep making content for at times demanding and sometimes discouraging users from the bottom of my heart.

Well, I agree that no one generating content, exceptional or otherwise (mcguirel's would fall into the "exceptional" category) will ever make millions, or even a living, doing so. Like teaching high school (been there, done that), one has to have a passion for the work or it won't be worth it at all. But whether one chooses to release payware or freeware is entirely their decision, and I would consider their decision none of my business. On the other hand, mcguirel has willingly shared her reasons for creating payware; check out some of her threads and you will see.

Anyway, I find the entire Trainz experience quite enthralling simply because there is such a vast range of offerings, both in the payware and freeware realms. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Auran/N3V has hit upon a great micro-model of a great working economy (speaking as a die-hard Capitalist...). I suppose that much of the sensitivity within the community is directed toward protecting this economy.

I know some people who make a living off of this kind of work. Just because they have a passion for Trainz, doesn't mean they do it for charity or don't care about the money. This is why it's such a big problem when self-righteous idiots (not referring to you, just referencing some past events) decide that sharing payware or ripping parts off of payware models is alright. It's not, and the simple facts are that not only do a lot of people either refuse or fail to see the bigger picture, but many of them do not care or respect the people behind the assets.

Just because you see this as a hobby or you think one way about their business model, doesn't mean they do.

Nice shots all :).

Dear Ekankal,

Nice shots. TANE is really starting to look good. :) Would you be so kind to tell me where you've got the single (loose) tracks and the precious cars from? I would be very grateful!

Many thanks and regards,

Koos

Thanks :).

All tracks are my own repaints (the original is "SAM track-III class3 v1"), and the wagons/cars are also my own repaints, made on different Sgnss models.

Erik, what containers are they? look real

They are also my own stuff ;).

Good heavens, Erik, don't you know this thread is for screenshots, not photographs. I feel the ground rumble from the passing train!
