T:ANE (in development) screenshots...

Hey Matt,

The Morris Minor White Van is on the shot taken from the Flying A garage looking at the RR Xing, it is the 1st in the line up. Also it is in the shot of the Strasburg #85 crossing the road near the Garage, 1st in the line. You got the shadows switched off in all these shots... right?

Regards,

Dave

A pair of 2-6-6-2 Mallets make their way along the C&O's Piney Creek Subdivision, with 100 loaded cars of coal in tow, bound for the Quinnimont yard. The train has just passed through McCreery, one of the early settlements on New River near the mouth of Piney Creek.

When the Piney Creek Shifter arrives at the three-span truss bridge across New River at the old mining town of Royal, it's necessary to take the heavy Mallets over the bridge one at a time. The lead locomotive uncouples and proceeds across the bridge.

Once the 1st Mallet is across the bridge, the 2nd Mallet can cross with the train. Once both have made it to the other side, they'll couple back up and double-head their way into Quinnimont, and the crews will prepare to take 100 empties back upgrade to the Raleigh terminal, from where they journey began.

I was curious about how well Hump Yards worked in T:ANE...

Answer; very well indeed!

You can't tell from the screenies but in the second and third all the railcars are in motion.
This is msgsapper's/gfisher's Watseka & Kankakee Railroad Route <kuid2:439337:100397:8>
and bnsf50's rolling stock (looking surprisingly good considering how old it is)

I found that a shallow downhill hump grade of 0.25%, 125' long, kicks a railcar at realistic slow speeds, and a yard that is a 0.02% downhill grade will roll railcars for miles ... and the pink directional speed retarders work wonderfully, if you place @ 4 of them in progression, a long distance from the exiting yard throat.

Interesting, the W&K yard hump has a grade of about 5+% and the rest of the yard is more or less flat. I usually kick off a car at about 4mph right about where the first screenie is focused. The grade there is still around 3%. There is only one retarder so it is pretty easy to run right out of the end of the yard. If you release a heavy string at the top of the hump sometimes the cars will make it clear out to the mainline.

Can you, or anyone else that's interested, suggest other routes that have nice hump yards? TS09 - T:ANE?

Finally had the chance to run some more Narrow Gauge in TANE on the Georgetown Loop.

All shots are dedicated to Trainboi1, Prowler901, TimoTheToolMan, BN1970, Klinger, and MontanaWestren.

Special dedication goes to Togog. :)

If you have two steam locomotives double heading the only whistle you hear is the first locomotive's and, so far as I can tell, you only hear the locomotive sound of the first engine. Rather disappointing.

Edit: Interesting I just repeated this test in TS12SP1HF4 and I could clearly hear both engine sounds, both bells, but only the front engine's horn. Then I went back into T:ANE and this time I could hear both engine sounds but only the front engine's horn and bell.

@Matt3985 - You're still uploading images with the PNG file type, I'm struggling to load them on a fiber optic connection.

Don't worry, I just converted the Narrow Gauge shots from PNG to JPG and now every shot I post from this moment onwards will be JPG starting now.

These shots are dedicated to Lilb, RRMods, Steve Lerro.

Having some more fun on TUME's Midwestern Route.

(Screens removed)

These shots are dedicated to TUME and BlackDiamond1964. :)

Hallo Matt - thank you very much :-)

That's why I created this route - to provide some fun to the people who are playing with it.
And as I see you enjoy quite a lot :-)

I really like the steam engines and the interurban electrics.

Your first shot reminds me that I could go to the fridge to get a cold beer

Have a good evening.
Your's TUME
