Sydney Metro Transport, a project that I am working on (Big Pics)

Yea! Keep it up guys and soon we'll have a trainz map of the earth!

Hey I wonder if you could trans dem that?

Cheers, William

Nowq where was I before I was "interrupted" Oh yeah

Looking good. Even though a certain (cough UR cough) is going to pull the monorail down next year, I'd keep it on your layout.

What version of Trainz is it for?

Thanks everyone for your comments. The first set of Sydney Variotrams are being uploaded to the DLS as this is being typed, and will replace those terrible reskins I did back in 2007 where I had no idea what I was doing XD. Keep an eye out on the DLS as they are under the name "SYD Vario" followed by the unit number the skin represents such as "2105" "2101" or "2107". First one to be uploaded is 2105 (the original 2 blues and red). Feel free to reskin as you like, but use "2101" or "2107" as the other one has an error in the window texturing in the front unit on the left windows. 2101 and 2107 well be uploaded in a few minutes. After that will be the waiting game..
Thanks everyone.

*note: Sydney Monorails are way off from being complete.

Annoucement! Sydney Light Rail Unit 2107 and 2105 are now on the DLS.

Now for some progress pics:

And the Monorail depot, so far [non functioning traverser]

Awesome work Memeboy! The Variotram LRVs are especially excellent. :D

As for the monorail traverser, a stop-gap method could be to use invisible track and connect the storage lines to the main line as sidings like a conventional railway. But the trouble with that method is when trains enter and leave the depot they'll be suspended in mid air with nothing holding them up! But it's a start.

If I remember rightly, I do recall seeing a traverser on the DLS ages ago - but for a conventional railway. However, if that's the case, it could be possible to change the config file to set it to use your monorail track instead of the track it came with, thus solving the problem.

But that's a big assumption on my part.

Ok I have tried Vulcan's traversers, but the track is too far spaced apart (Not to mention the real monorail actually has 2 moving traversers)

This project is currently on hold until my new laptop mouse arrives (trackpad is too hard to use for Trainz). Then, we shall have more progress! :D

(trackpad is too hard to use for Trainz).
Or really anything else. Rats, sorry I mean mouse (- rats are in parliament houses!) are usually cheap.

Memeboy is that for TS10 or TS12

Oh yeah, almost forget, I suppose you went to Metro Rail to try and find out the distances? They are (or were) reluctant even to give the distances between tram stops.

This route is for TS10, although I do have TS12, but building in TS10.
I actually used Google maps overlays, in which I made with Google Sketchup and "Add Location" feature, and then using RubyTMIX to export into Trainz and place overlays. (I am too cheap for TranzDem)
I did ride the Light Rail 8 times in 1 day and 2 loops of the monorail on the same day, and from my observations, this route in far from complete.
I am only 15 so my number of visits is limited to my parents permission.
lol at Parliment house, at least they are extending the light rail to Dulwich Hill (which will be included in the route after the extension is in use in real life)
BTW I brought a discount Apple Magic Mouse specifically for my MacBook on eBay :D

While waiting for my mouse to arrive, I've been working more on the Sydney Monorail. Somehow, I model better with the trackpad..

Sydney,
Y U NO KEEP MONORAIL!?

Here's 2 shots, been busy lately with exams -_-
@scratchy: They plan to close it on the 30th June 2013, so if you haven't done so already, I suggest you use up every last moment of the monorail, as I am (already been on it twice since last school holidays, and I plan to use it a lot more in December)

Now for the screenshots:

And the monorail now has a proper interior, but without moving doors atm

Oh and is anyone here good at making engine sounds? will have some recordings while I was on the monorail, and since the monorail makes a "clang" noise when it moves over a busbar rod connector, that will need to be incorporated, also is anyone here good at animating doors to match sound recordings? again I have recording of the clicking sound before the doors open then it opening. Thanks :D

Hello everyone, I am opening a new project, the Metro Transport Sydney, which includes the Sydney Light Rail and Monorail. Here are some screen-shots:

This depot doesn't actually function, but is anyone here willing to make one?

What the bottom of the monorail depot looks like

Here's what the Central Station loop looks like for now, because the Central that is on the DLS doesn't match the Google street view overlay that I have, and the ramps are way to short for this.

*Anyone wishing to assist can PM me on the forums

Nice place to park a plane.

Nice place to park a plane.
I was waiting for someone to notice that!

Now I am going to focus primarily on the monorail, as it has less than a year to live
The bogies, interior and track now have more realistic textures

While watching over a video I recorded, I noticed Set 1 sitting dead in the depot (after its accident in 2010) I would have to recreate this which shouldn't be hard

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of updates lately, I have been working on the monorail's infrastructure, like some of the stations and track. Lately I have been trying to add a door sound to the monorail's door (for that distinct clicking sound it makes before the door opens), but can't seem to make it play. I have read of the .evt file but don't know how to make one, only how to query things into an existing one. Does anyone know how to get it to work? any help would be greatly appreciated.

i know it's a bit late, but any updates on the Sydney Monorail assets? The Von Roll style equipment would be useful for a project i'm working on
