Monorail Enthusiast
THE WDWPROJECT AND DTO HAVE BEEN ON HOLD FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW. THE TRANSITION FROM WINDOWS TO MAC IS NOT EASY ON TRAINZ BUT WE ARE SLOWLY MAKING PROGRESS.
Hello everyone:wave:
I am happy to say that DTO and WDWProject are back in business! DTO is beginning a new route and so far, visualizations are looking great! WE would like to announce some changes to the DTO website. DisneyTrainz's website (which can be found here) has added a blog tab ( http://disneytrainz.webs.com/apps/blog/ )where the owner (me) announces updates to DTO's progress towards development. We will also be adding weekly updates to DTO's homepage announcing new blog posts, contest announcements, or major updates to the route. Screenies will begin appearing within the next two weeks or sooner, but otherwise here's what we have planned for the route so far.
The route will take place in a major city surrounded by water, suburbs, and calm countryside. The area will be ran by a large mass transit system consisting of a Metro Rail system in the city itself, a complex railroad system (companies are yet to be decided), and who could forget the monorail.
Metro Rail
So far, all we have are the stations, the rails and the scenery, we are working hard to find the proper type of street car for this type of project. As far as we know, there will be more than fifteen five car units all around the city.
Railroad
We are deciding between Santa Fe, CSX, and Conrail for the railroad system (heck, we may end up using all three). There will be multiple sessions with different freight and passenger routes. If anyone would like to submit your creations to help benefit the project, please feel free to email us your .cdp package and we'll consider placing it somewhere in the route. (try to stay in the design of the classic navy and gold Santa Fe diesel engine)
Monorail
The route will definitely have all twelve of the current monorails operating in Walt Disney World as we speak, plus an additional eight more. We are holding a contest for color picking. See the contests tab on the DTO website for more details. The monorail route so far is our most carefully planned route and even has an online/offline schedule planned. Never will all twenty trains be online at once, unless the user overrides the system to make it happen (this is NOT recommended as it will completely screw up the entire monorail system and will cause game lag and system instability which can crash the game.) The monorail route has three main lines. Like the Walt Disney World monorail system, monorail central will be at the center of the system map and will station all three routes (similar to the Transportation and Ticket Center). Stay tuned for further details.
Any questions? Feel free to PM me or shoot me an email at frawleysean1@gmail.com
